Hi, I want to fit a BBS01 to my giant escape. However I am concerned about the clearance between the motor and crank housing.

The cables for the gears run under the crank housing through a plastic fitting which adds about 8mm to the crank housing (See photo).

Will the clearance of this bracket and the screw (into the housing) holding it in place be a problem?

Thanks, Tom

it should be OK. You are going to lose the front derailleur cable. The rear derailleur cable may need nudging away a liittle bit. The motor won't put pressure on it in any case.

Exactly as trex says. The majority of bikes have derailleur guides under the bottom bracket and the BBS01 was designed to fit over them. Yours is a bit bigger than many but if it is a problem you can always replace the plastic guide with a smaller one like this one. I note that yours terminates the flexible hose outers so needs to be a certain size, but where there's a will there's a way ...
