Gear shift sensors

Your thoughts on gear shift sensors, are they strongly recommended or an optional gimmick?

Are you an experienced cyclist? If you are then you probably ease off before changing gear by habit/instinct so it won't be necessary. I have over 2000 km without ever having felt that it was missing.

I have one. It's nice to have but not necessary at all. If it broke I wouldn't miss it.
