Intuvia Active Line replacement

I have a busted Intuvia on my Bosch Active Line system and I am planning on buying a new one, so I was wondering if it has to be on the same firmware version as the rest of the system or will it work regardless.

I've replaced/swapped a couple of Intuvia displays and all have worked.

Seems to me the display is just that, all the bike info is stored in the controller which is buried somewhere in the motor casing.

you can also fit a purion display if you want one.

My preference as its less of distraction and frees up room on handle bar for bag/ basket mounting. You do lose a few features, clock, trip time and average speed?. Also little more tricky access features as you don't have info button.
