thanks for the reply. Tried what you said. No PAS with me turning the pedals until I reached over and hit the throttle.
PAS=pedal sensor.
Throttle=throttle
How do you know that the PAS is working when you open the throttle because the motor would normally operate when you open the throttle whether the PAS was working or not?

Take a photo from underneath the bottom bracket so that we can see the PAS.

I did as you requested: "Is the PAS working or not? What you said is too vague. Put the bike in its lowest gear, lift the motor-wheel off the ground and turn the pedals. Does the motor overtake the pedals?" and the determination was that it did not. However the throttle does work fine. Also, went on a long ride yesterday and tried the PAS on and off in gears 1-5 without touching the throttle. Nothing. The bike was sluggish - as far as I tell there was zero difference with the PAS on and off
