I am new to this site and ebikes so bear with me if i am being unrealistic

Looking for a half decent bike for about £350 that i can use to the train station and back. About 4 miles round trip.

I am in the Southend (Essex) area

I would look second hand, but for this price not sure if you'll get anything decent / reliable. I do understand it's a train station bike, so you want cheap/unreliable vs good/expensive and it gets stolen.

The OP hasn't told us why the need for an ebike for what appears to be a relatively short journey of 2 miles each way. I'm not going to be nosy & ask, but if I made the assumption that it isn't for medical reasons, I'd question whether an ebike is needed.

£350 would buy a decent bike secondhand with a decent spread of gears that would easily handle anything Essex could throw at him/her. Even a new bike at that price from Halfords would suffice, IMHO.

Easier to insure, as well.
