You need to narrow it down with more information.

Budget, length of commute, type of terrain, what you mean by 'off road', and any other requirements you can think of.

The terrain of your off road riding is relevant, but I'm guessing you mean nothing more challenging than a well-made cycle path.

Any battery will do your commute, so no range worries.

A commuter would generally want mudguards and possibly a rack.

These can be retrofitted to almost any bike, but factory fit may be neater.

Your budget will just about get you a Bosch crank drive bike, but you will need to derestrict it by means of a £100 dongle.

Cube is a good make, and this one has a rack, mudguards, and lights, so is commutable out of the box.

A cheaper option would be something from Oxygen, which can be derestricted at the control display, but has lower quality components.

The S Cross is commuter ready.

The bearing is a fair point, although I've had no problems in more than 10,000 miles of Bosch ebiking.

Not sure what you mean by a few months away, bikes with the latest big chainring Bosch motor are in the shops now.

If the Cube is unavailable, the OP could have a look at the Carrera/Bosch in Halfords.

Decent value at about £1,600, although it would need all the commuting bits adding.

A hardtail eMTB would suit your needs perfectly. We tend to see people opting for the Cube Reaction Hybrids to tackle both on and off-road use.

We do also have an excellent offer on the Scott E-Scale 710 at the moment, same motor as the Cube, but does have a larger-capacity battery and an upgraded spec;

Do let us know if you have any questions on any of our bikes in particular and we will be happy to help!

Many thanks,
Luke
