Hi everyone

I already own a carrera crosscity e that I currently use for my 8 mile round trip commute and for the money it has been good. However I'm moving soon and my journey will then be 20 mile round trip and will be mostly canal paths so I'm concerned the little crosscity won't be ideal for this. Any recommendations on a new bike to deal with this journey. Budget would be £1000- £1700 max.ideally with some suspension and mountain bike looks

Thanks

The Oxygen S-cross MTB should be good for that. It has the advantage that you can adjust the maximum speed to pretty fast, but that might not be so much help on rough canal paths.

Another option is to do a conversion. That would give you the opportunity for full-suspension. I doubt that you'll get a decent full-suspension OEM bike in that price range.

Hello Spence,

for 20 miles on rough canal paths, I'd agree with d8veh that a conversion is probably the best solution.
From my bikes, I would suggest the Woosh Krieger or if you are heavy, the Big Bear.

I also have a fullsus, the Zephyr-B 2017 that may be of interest:

I can't recommend my Rio MTB, we are nearly out of stock until the first week in October. The new batch of Rio MTB arriving late September has 27.5" tyres and 17AH battery. Price £1,169.
