Does anybody know what motor is fitted to this bike and more specifically if a no-name controller will be compatible?

I've looked inside the motor and it appear to have a higher reduction ratio than most. Each planetary gear has a smaller one attached which mate to a (smaller than usual) ring on the removable plate. Gears are helical, which surprised me.

I found some pics of one that looks similar, but mine appears to have no makers name.

Ok, so any 36v brushless controller will work with the motor then. Will prob. run ok on 48v if you want a bit more speed. No idea on make of motor I'm afraid.

I don't know who made the motors, but Powacycle gave mixed messages about their rating. For a long time saying they were 180 watt, they later claimed a change to 200 watts and have at other times said 250 watts, so anyone's guess.

Possibly best not to push it too far with the choice of controller though, 15 amp ok.
