I can't figure out how to make the route go where I want it. I type in start and finish addresses and it sends me down the dual carriageway. is there any way to add waypoints other than typing in an address, or is there a way to pull the track onto the roads you want?

Choose options (the gear icon) and choose recommended route for e-bike worked for me.

Select the address box - move the cursor to the desired point on the map and right click the mouse - select from the options of the drop down box of start, end or waypoint.

You can also switch to a cyclemap showing national cycle routes.
