Please help. Jangling from motor.

New elife folding:

Anyone know why there is a jangling/rattling sound inside the motor, like loose screws, but only when the power is on and the bike is going faster than the motor can drive it, for example downhill. If I stop peddling at this faster speed, the jangling/rattling noise stops.

Does it sound like electrical growling at all ?

If there was something a miss and rattling inside the planetary gears etc would soon seize if they were in that side of the hub.
Your description sounds electrical as it only happens with power, this in turn appears to be a mechanical sound.
If the hub is quite with no power then I would say most likely to be as above.


You need to check the motor hub connection joint and insure it is connected fully, disconnect it and refit.
Also you have to check the 3 thick phase wire connections (yellow/blue & green) at the controller, particularly paying attention to the connectors and they are crimped tightly.
