Hi All,

Any suggestions for carrying a Haibike Fullnine 29er on the roof, thinking off a Thule 598 but not sure such a big bike will fit on it.

Cheers,

Chris

Be aware that wind might force rain water into your electric s and motor. There are aftermarket velcro engine protectors you can buy, but they won't help when you drive into that covered carpark and ignore the max height warning sign.

Lifting on to the roof and securing it without damaging your car will be a real problem. A better option is a towbar with a Thule bike carrier.

I can just lift mine over a gate so mounting it on the roof would be daunting.

VW Transporter or Navara Pick up.

I know its an expensive option but.....

'VW Transporter or Navara Pick up' are good but not as good as a Citroen Berlingo!:D

VW Transporter, Navara Pick up and Citroen Berlingo are good, but not as good as a Vauxhall Movano! :D

Although in the Top trumps game, it could be beaten if low barrier height was called first. :D

It is nice having a porta loo, diesel cooker, toaster and microwave oven in there though. :)

In seriousness though, Izzy is spot on about forgetting the roof bars, and getting a towbar and Thule carrier instead.

Got me a tow bar for the Hyundai ix 35, and bike carrier, Buzz Rack Scorpion . It's a heavy one, but just as good as the thule. Hubby has a 2014, Ford Connect SWB, best thing we bought. Can't afford a VW, but would quite
happily have a transit next time. I agree I don't know how we'd cope without the van.
