I recently brought a ebike with the Shimano Steps system. I've noticed that when ever I change gear there is a loud click on the first pedal revolution. It also happens if I stop pedalling and start again in the same gear. I reported this to the bike shop and they had a local cycle shop near me check it out. They reported back they could find nothing wrong with it. This has the 11 gear hub. From time to time the gears do skip and it's meant to go down automatically to second gear when you come to a stop. This I'm finding is very hit amd miss. The nosie does not happen with the motor off.
I've also removed and regreased the pedal threads and the seatpost and saddle clamp in case they were the issue with no joy. Have I got a bad motor\hub or is this noise normal on the Steps system? I tested an 8 gear model and I can't remember it making this noise each time I changed gear.
