Hi ladies and gents. My names Darren and I am a convert to ebikes. I currently have a Haibike and after an accident themail motor is caput. Can anyone on here tell me where I can get a PW Series Yamaha motor. I'e searched the Internet and can't find anywhere that sells them to the general public. Do you have to be a registered dealer with Yamaha to be able to purchase. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance. Darren

What's wrong with the motor? Is it smashed or what?

No its not smashed it just no longer kicks in. There is power from the battery to the controller and that works fine but it seems like the motor isnt responding when you pedal.

The problem most likely isn't in the motor then. It could be anywhere. you need to get it to any electric bike dealer that sells bikes with Yamaha motors to get a diagnostic report, then they'll most likely be able to fix it. If you tell us where you live, maybe somebody could tell you where to go.

I live in South Birmingham and have checked online and can not find a ebike specialist close to me.

Hi welcome
You should try living in s.w.wales
Then you would know what it’s like not too have local dealers :)

Any error messages / numbers? These may take some time to appear after starting. Only time I have come across this without an error code personally it was actually the battery that was at fault.

Hi Chris. Thee doesn' seem to be any problem with the battery as the controller still works and I don' get any error messages. The problem started after a guy knocked me off my bike and it took quite a hit

The time I had the same sort of thing it was a hired battery that was the problem, again no errors.
Shouldn't really be your problem to sort out if you were knocked off your bike, surely it's down to his insurers to sort it out.
Cycle Republic and Naitionwide ebikes are both Haibike dealers in Birmingham, use them for diagnostics.
A Yamaha motor is close to £700 so no point guessing.

Yeah it is going through solicitors but I was hoping to get the bike going again even if it is just as a second bike but I suppose your right. No point takig chances on that type of money. I didn' realise cycle Republic dealt in ebikes so I'll give them a call. Thanks
