Cheers for the info and links egroover. Did you use rivnuts to get your battery higher up?
Yep, used one of the existing bottle nuts, and a new one further up. Got a tool from ebay ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/86PCS-Set-Blind-THREADED-NUT-RIVET-INSERT-TOOL-GUN-RIV-NUT-RIVET-M3-M8-RIVETER/163306985427?hash=item2605dad7d3:g:ujsAAOSwGgdbvhKS:rk:3:pf:0 )
Just take your time, start off with a punch (or a nail) then a small drill bit and then larger, be careful not to go too bit, the rivnut needs to be a tight fit. I practiced on a set of step ladders, the kit above comes with plenty of rivnuts. There's some videos on youtube to show you

It might be best to get another 26" bike although apart from the voodoos, the only ones I can find are either around £100 quid or for kids now and i'm 6'1 lol.
Just got myself a brand new (lost in warehouse) 2012 Forme Stag MTB - pretty high spec with 26" wheels - from Peak Cyclesport in Macclesfied. at a great discount. All Shimano Deore/XT and Rockshox Recon forks.
They are posting it so won't have it for a few days but the photos look fantastic.

Mine's a 16" medium, but they also have 19" XL which might suit you.

PS I found it on bikeexchange.co.uk which seems to specialise in leftover stock from indy shops.
I specified 26" wheels and the Forme looked the best out of a fair range available.

Thank you Laser man. I'm currently searching on gumtree and ebay for people posting bikes within 15 miles of me. Nothing ideal has come about yet.

I was the same as you, but found that the better bikes from 2006 to 2011 or so (before the big wheel fad) were going for more than I was prepared to pay for something secondhand and that old.

You could also try findthatbike.co.uk - lets you search by county and you can set up email alerts. It lists all gumtree and ebay adverts as well as a few from other sources, so saves you having to look in lots of different places.

That's excellent Laser. Been fed up looking at these ads on different sites everyday. Be nice to just have it all in one place. =)

Where is your 15 mile radius based on?

It occurs to me that in a few weeks time (once I've transferred the Woosh kit onto my new bike) my old bike will probably* be up for sale. I'm in Hampshire near Romsey.

I won't be asking much since it is 25 years old, but it is in very nice condition with some good upgrades (Rockshox fork. Deore brakes etc.). Steel, but lightweight at about 13.5kg before motorising (as light as most mid-range alloy bikes!). I'm about 5'10" and it's a bit big for me. The only downer is that it would be very expensive to convert it to disc brakes.
You can see a photo of the bike in my thread "My build of a Woosh XF08 CST kit onto an old Saracen Andes" 12th July this year.

* Will be offering it to my son-in-law first.

Hello Laser. I'm near Derby. I've seen some second hand bikes near there so i'm going for a look tomorrow. Thanks for your time, you've been a great help.

Hey egroover what size rivnut did you end up using? I am looking at a tiger shark battery case and with the extra batteries its heavy an extra 1.2kg(ish) more than my current setup so I think i'd better play safe and secure it properly!

There is another "jumbo" shark case i like the look of more than the "tiger" a bit more slim line however its EM3EV so from the US and it'l attract import duty and or VAT so an extra £60 compared with the UK tiger.:(

The kit I linked to includes the rivnuts, I think the ones I used were M5, they will be the same as your existing bottle cage bolts
