My Bike Rides along the North Wales Coast Part 2
Round the Orme cont'd© John Robert Cook 2017
If you are lucky you may see the famous Orme Goats. Below, the remains of the Royal Artillery Coastal School from WW2.
Anglesey and Puffin Island in the distance.
From West Shore, I made my way back to North Shore and then along the prom and over the Little Orme to Penrhyn Bay.
I had cycled just over 11 miles.
The highest point on my route was 409 feet above sea level.
However, my total ascent was 1030 feet.
Round the Orme to Penmanmawr
10th October 2017
The path at the side of the road, from Penrhyn Bay, up the Little Orme. A bit steeper than the road, especially at the top.
At the top of the Little Orme, Route 5 takes you left, off the main road. First view of Llandudno.
Llandudno Promenade, which now forms part of National Cycle Route 5. For a long time the Council resisted giving permission for this to be a cycle track.
The toll gate and the pier, with the Little Orme and the hills behind Rhyl in the background.
