Norfolk Cycle Show embraces e-bikes

On Sunday, Norwich hosted this year’s ‘Norfolk Cycle Show’ at the city’s Forum. Sponsored by Electrifying Cycles, the busy event was also attended by FreeGo Wisper and Momentum Electric.

Talking about the event, David Wood of Electrifying Cycles, told Pedelecs ‘We found the reception to electric bikes was great, with a particular highlight being the interest from young people in electric bikes.’

The Norfolk Cycle Show was in its second year, although it saw its first attendance from Electrifying Cycles: ‘This is the first time we’ve been involved with the Norfolk Cycle Show and, although we attend between four and six events each year, this qualifies as the best in a long time.’ He went on to explain ‘the number of sales leads and number of electric bike smiles we had from test riders by the end of the day’ far outstripped his experience of previous events elsewhere in the UK.

He added: ‘However the factor that made the day great was there was something there for all the family, including the chance to ride a tandem with former world champion, Graham Obree.’

David Miall, also exhibiting FreeGo Wisper electric bikes, told Pedelecs ‘This is our second year of participation and personally I’m delighted with the way people in Norwich connect with electric bikes and cycling in general’. In terms of the show’s organization, he added that he was ‘very impressed with the professionalism of the event’.

To the make the most of the city centre’s footfall, the show was hosted in the heart of Norwich’s busy shopping area. The resulting compromise was a limited test area for people to demo the bikes. However that didn’t dampen the public’s enthusiasm for the bikes, with FWG telling us they also sold a good number of bikes on the day. The company will be supporting the event again next year.
