I recently had a heart attack which has led to me having a stent and then a heart bypass. Its now 8 weeks since my surgery and I am looking to start cycling as part of my cardiac rehabilitation. It has been recommended to me that I get an ebike as this will help when I get tired going up hills etc and I can use battery power to help me continue. I live in a very hilly area so the bike needs enough oomph to make it up the steep hills.

I havent the first idea about ebikes so any help would be really appreciated. I will be going through a cycle2work scheme and my budget is around £2k.

It's been a while!

So, I've been busy with life and stuff and haven't been active on here for a few years. Love the new bike but cant find any info on recharging the battery. Connected the charger (Shimano EC-E6002) to the charge port but the only indication I got on the charger was one orange LED. This one concerns Volt emailing today to say that B1 batts are back in stock £460. While I was waiting for this to happen I found batts on Amazon. I ordered one told it had been dispatched. I was unsure if a charger was supplied and asked Amazon and then the supplier answered and thus began a ping pong email trail. Yes a charger is supplied but we need measurements for your battery.

Weird apparently it had been dispatched and now they want measurements. How many measuring tapes must a man pull out before he can say sod this and cancelled the order. I got my money back. Yet I still wanted a battery, so I emailed them again to which they wanted more measurements. I left it but at £279 for the largest 36v version. I'm thinking is it actually possible to get it. The companies name is SDTYYP a Chinese outfit. I seen a news item online saying battery Chinese manufacturers have to comply with strict safety laws. More likely for the car market but a battery is a battery.

Anyone ever heard of them, had any dealings good or bad. I'm a pensioner and watching my savings shrink more rapidly than I can push my bike. The battery I ordered looks exactly like the first one I had when I bought the bike.

Specialized Crosstail e-bike Replacement - Advice Requested

Hi all,

"So wot appened wuz"

Driving along the A30 xmas day on my way to spend xmas with my friends when I was rudely interupted by the police stopping me and taking away my license on medical grounds! Turns out that I had had my license revoked on Dec 7th but the DVLA bless them, had written to tell me this at my previous address. Anyway coppers were very good about it as the DVLA showed my license as my previous address but I had my current license with me with the correct address.

Now being disabled and not able to walk far I am desperate for some transport, everyone was pointing me in the direction of a motability scooter but I have two reasons against this, one it is not going to help me get fit again(after an illness over the last two years in which I lost 13 stone!) I have major muscle wastage and need gentle exercise. Second I think motability scooters are very limited in where they can go and I want to range further than just the local shops.

So after much thought and reading I have decided an electric bike is the best solution. I have road motorbikes for 40+ years so feel I will be able to cope with the weight even in my feeble state. Just going to have to learn to put my right leg down as my left will not take much weight.

On here looking for advice on my first bike, which is going to be limited by funds and the fact I want to get one ASAP to get a little bit of independence back.

Roger AKA Baloo.

Oh should mention I am 6foot 6 and weight a trim 15 stone now.So still not exactly a lightweight!

Hi there, this is Progress from London. Plz can someone help put me through the control settings. It's about 18 of them, unfortunately the description wasn't in the manual. I'll be very grateful if anyone can help. Thanks
