New ebike buyer and best e-bike supplier edinburgh

Probably worth trying Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Op. I can't vouch for after sales service as I've not bought anything from them, but they've been helpful the 3 times I've been in and tried 4 bikes (over the 3 visits) for about 1/2 hour each. They've got a good range of makes and models to choose from.

    700c Wheels to 26" Wheels

I was thinking about getting an Sduro 4, which has 27.5" x 2.4" tyres as standard, and I calculated it would take 700 wheels with up to 42mm tyres.

Advice wanted for DIY Welsh commuter (Trek FX conversion?)

So does that mean that if you run a 34t chainring with 11-42 cassette that in 1st gear 42t sprocket the torque is 42/34x100=124NM?

    Winter Tyres

Last year I had the Schwalbe Marathon Winter and they were excellent when the roads were icy, but to be honest not so nice to ride when it wasn't icy. This year I've decided to try Continental Winter II tyres. Review here; Review: Continental TopContact Winter II tires I'm not expecting them...

    Is this just a fad?

Doubtless there is some marketing spin surrounding 29" bikes. It is irritating that there's some 'mystic' about the wheel size when it's just a standard 700 (622mm diameter) rim with fat tyres. Though it has made wider rims available in this size to accommodate the fatter tyres. Having said...

Kalkhoff Agattu - a high power puzzlement

I'm can't answer your question directly, but if your natural riding style takes your cadence to a level where assistance is reduced, then you might want to consider the 11 tooth motor sprocket. This would increase the cadence at which the assistance is available.

    Pro Connect New Gearing

Rob, if you prefer pedalling more slowly you'll probably be better off returning to the 9 tooth motor sprocket. Keeping your 41t chainwheel and 18 tooth rear sprocket will still give you a considerable max assistance speed increase of 23%, though not as high as the 50% max assist speed...

    Pro Connect New Gearing

The change from 35 / 19 to 41 / 18 means you will have lost your old lowest gear and your new 1st gear will be the same as your old 2nd gear. And gained a significantly higher top gear (23%) higher. This in turn will increase the max assist speed from 15mph to around 18.5mph. Changing the...
