OK ... AFAIK it's always been a bit stiff, so I can now accept that it's how it is. Btw, it's "stiff" when changing down whether or not I pause pedalling, and indeed when stationary with no load on it. Thank you folks.

My query was simply that the twistgrip is stiff when rotated "towards me" i.e. when changing down. The actual change is fine.

I have a 2023 Gazelle pedelec with belt drive to a Nexus 5 hub. It's done about 1500 miles and has recently started acting up when changing gear. Sometimes when I change up, all that happens is that the shifter moves to the next highest gear indication, but the hub doesn't change gear...

OK, I'll check the motor mounting out as soon as I can. Am I right in thinking though that the only thing that's supposed to go on the belt is water and washing-up liquid to clean it if it's crudded up?

Just out of curiosity ... White step-through frame, rear hub motor, black battery behind seat tube, red/pink throttle(?) button on r/h of bars, black rear carrier with rat trap, pink plastic "wicker" basket on the front, European-style noseless saddle. Recently bought new on Facebook, apparently.
