    TV viewing tonight at 9pm

I live in south Devon and ride an ordinary bike and an electric bike and I only ever receive courtesy and kindness from other road users. Often when I am climbing a hill up onto Dartmoor on single track roads, the drivers will wait in a passing place waiting until I have climbed past them so I...

    Puncture repairs

I use Slime self adhesive patches. Work every time although I have always used tyre levers in 50 years of repairing my own punctures.

Do members think it is possible to produce a decent e bike for £1k

Yes, that Trek FX7.3 with Bionx motor would have tempted me. My normal bike is a Trek FX7.3 which is £500 new. It's a great bike unassisted and with the Bionxx hub motor it would certainly be a very good bike to have. I've tried the Trek Valencia and it was very good, this offer has the same...

    Greetings!

My husband started to commute to work on his e-bike a couple of months ago - 15 miles each way with hills and to begin with he needed to recharge the battery each now, now one charge lasts 3 days so he got much fitter quite quickly. So far I've only e-biked home from work 20 miles and very...

Looking for bike around £700, any ideas?

Try Reaction Electric in Taunton, they have a really good range. Or look at second hand. I got a fantastic Panasonic crank motored electric bike off e-Bay for £500 and it can manage all the hills around Plymouth, including a 1 in 6 and has a range in excess of 30 miles.

Hub or Derailleur, Which Is Best?

I have a Panasonic crank driven BH E-motion with eight derailleur gears and my husband has a similar motor on his Raleigh Leeds with 7 speed hub gears. They seem to do equally well on the many hills around here. Sometimes its great to be able to continue to climb whilst changing gear with the...

    Good everyday bike?

I just bought an electric bike on ebay from Onbike and I am delighted with it. They only work certain days a week which may explain why they are not answering questions. That said, the Velo Trail is a hideous colour.

    South Devon E-Cyclist

Hi, Badger I don't think you'll be too worried about limited range. This morning my husband cycled my bike from Modbury to Salcombe and it only dipped one LED on the battery. He said he had to stop for a breather on Aveton Giffird hill but that's only to be expected. I'm going out to try it...

Recommendations for a new bike - 20 miles of very hilly commuting done every day

My husband is very happy with his Raleigh Leeds bike which has the seven speed hub gear and Panasonic crank motor. He commutes a 30 miles round trip in very hilly south Devon, including very steep hills. With the 12AHr battery it still has power left at the end of the daily commute. I was...

    South Devon E-Cyclist

Hi, All I am new to pedelecs having bought a BH E-Motion City Deluxe on ebay. It is two years old, done 1850 miles but the battery still manages 30 miles plus of Devon hills so I'm really pleased with it. I'm still struggling to get used to a bike with a cross bar having only ridden ladies...

    raleigh leeds commuter south devon

Hi, Modbury, I live in south Devon too, perhaps we can get together for rides. I have a BH E-Motion 700C Deluxe which I think is the same motor as yours so should get up those hills around Modbury.
