    Ebike News

This a misleading video as it fails to mention that, Irish Road Tracffic act "defines a mechanically propelled vehicle as one, inter alia, intended or adapted for propulsion by mechanical means, including a bicycle equipped with an auxiliary electric motor greater than 0.25kw." This one was...

Swytch Mk3 Air problem with third-party hub

If you are using original Swytch SW102 display, the speed magnets is hardcoded (n=6 in kits I've used) in the display firmware and cannot be edited. Your external sensor will have to match it to get the right speed. Or mentally correct the speed by a factor.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel

    > I'd prefer something lower down rather than the swytch-style handlebar mounted batteries I know Swytch is universally hated here, but can't help point out they have "bro block" that mounts the battery lower down. Never used their kit on a folding bike, but know a few who seem satisfied.

Making a torque throttle instead of a speed throttle for a cheap controller

    > KT controllers work differently to yours. Each pedal assist level is a different power, and all allow you to reach the global maximum speed you set. For your Lishui one, each level allows maximum power, but has a different speed limit. That depends on the firmware. Lishui controllers I've...

    Wierd Pedal Assist Problem

Does it start to judder before going off indicating poor power delivery? Anyway, the picture below shows what someone did to fix poor connectivity at the mounting bracket (copied from a post on Swytch Bike Chat).

    Wierd Pedal Assist Problem

As this is Swytch gen2, a very likely culprit is the mounting bracket which known to malfunction over time and very susceptible to loose connection on vibration. The intermittent power issue that you see is a telling sign. Their gen 3 mount is much better designed.

    Torque Arms.

Even if "we" were ready to do that, GRIN's shipping charge within Canada is not cheap -- CAD 17 for the CAD 27 torque arm. So, you'll need to find not just a dishonest Canadian, but someone who can pick up locally in Vancouver. Tall order :) Amazon.com will ship free within US, but prices are...

BSA square taper bottom bracket compatibility with Swytch

The BB is relevant only if you want to use the so-called "integrated pas". The conventional two-piece PAS involving a magnetic ring and a separate pick-up sensor will fit on your bike. No need to change the BB, just ask for the two-piece PAS instead (standard or universal).

    Hello All

For a discussion on Swytch by users who own and use their kits, go to the facebook (ahem) group "Swytch Bike Chat". For generic technical expertise on pedelecs, this is a great forum though. Just an observation based on my few months of lurking here.

    Swytch Ebike Conversion Kit

Never seen 18" in Swytch wheel selection menu. Ask Swytch support. For a folding bike also check the fork spacing. Swytch has two options -- the so-called universal which is 100mm, and folding which will fit 74 to 80mm. You have to choose one of the two based on your fork, not based on folding...
