Corratec LifeS AP5 - looking for opinions

Thanks - I know that. Last time I've tried to talk to them some years back they were not very helpful. Perhaps I should try again :)

Corratec LifeS AP5 - looking for opinions

To me "mainstream" means "more likely to be stolen" either for components or for selling.

Corratec LifeS AP5 - looking for opinions

20" non-folding electric bike which seems to receive good reviews. I like the geometry, but this doesn't seem to be a best way to choose the bike. It comes with Bosch Active Line motor. My main question is how reliable it is likely to be? Here (Warwickshire) it is not easy to find a workshop...

Belt or chain, derailleur or hub?

I have cycled Townie along Los Angeles beach last January and found it rather heavy going.

    What's the best Map App

I am using Mio Cyclo 505 which I got on ebay for under £100. Sometimes the route it suggests a little bit crazy (i.e. a 3+ miles loop in order to avoid cycling on a major town road for 600 yards) but other than that it's perfect. I just check the route it suggests before setting off. I...

    Electric bike vs. folder

Today I decided to take my Tern for a weekly ride to a "local" farm to pick up some fresh milk and eggs, it's nearly a 30 miles loop, which I would normally do on the Gazelle. To my surprise, this time it took a little over an hour one way, while with the Gazelle it was more like an hour and...

    Electric bike vs. folder

Comparing the two bikes I have: Tern has 7 gears while Gazelle has got 8; Gazelle's tyres are Schwalbe Marathon 28 x 1.10, 700 x 28C , Tern has Schwalbe Big Apple, 50-406, 20x2.0; both have internal gear hubs.

I am right in thinking that this is going to work only with hub gear?

    Electric bike vs. folder

Gosh! I've started this discussion in order to try to understand what's happening as my expectation was that electric bike should make it easier to get around when there are hills up and down all the way. Currently I am thinking of using the Gazelle during winter months and bad weather...

To be honest, I find the chain guard from Gazelle (above) quite easy to remove.

I always thought full size chain guard is something like this ;)

    Electric bike vs. folder

In my 20+ years of cycling the chain came off maybe once or twice, although I tend to service bikes twice a year. I need a chain guard, because in summer I like to cycle wearing a dress or a skirt :) I don't drive - so cycle everywhere - from work to shopping and medical appointments.

    Electric bike vs. folder

Thank you Woosh - I have been thinking about Ramba, that's what I would have picked myself from your website. I was wondering if by any chance it might be possible to fit a chain guard? Tern is has a step-through frame as well, and I can cycle upright. Back problems make it hard to stay in a...

    Electric bike vs. folder

I enjoy upright riding position that Dutch bikes offer. But the Netherlands of course is fairy flat country, so probably Gazelle isn't the best choice for hilly areas. Are there any bikes suitable for hilly terrain with nearly upright riding?
