Definition of an e-bike retard..... Someone who persistently and constantly promotes his/her supa-dupa electric moped on a forum started and supported by groups of people who SPECIFICALLY created the forum to help and support people who want to get involved with pedelecs, which are fully legal...

As a fairly new member here, I'm surprised you are suggesting there is greater support for hub drives, because I would have said otherwise? I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying I'm not aware of it. In fact I would have said the alternative was true, and there was more interest in...

And your point? Chris is right, and I'll explain that tomorrow when I've got some time for some self-indulgence. But the one thing I can say in just a few words, is I've not noticed Chris being abusive (name calling) or suggesting anyone has a lower intellect. Like me, he's pretty much stuck to...

I'm guessing you're up late, 'cos it's school holidays? You can be as abusive as you like. You think people reading this forum, especially non-members are going to be thinking I'm the dickhead in this conversation? So you've got a fast e-bike. You are thinking it makes you a god, someone who...

Did you miss my quote about the two cyclists who were jailed? Why did they get jailed? People walked out in front of them while they were cycling on the road. Not on e-bikes either. Unless you are riding on an empty road, with no other human or animal close enough to come into contact with you...

It was a comparison on purchase cost. Someone who wants 2 wheels that allows them to travel at 30mph, they're a motorist. At 30mph and on two wheels you're almost certainly going to need insurance unless you're an Olympic grade cyclist, and also a license of some sort. This is not a grey area...

Exactly that. You can't have it both ways. You are either a cyclist, or a motorist. Even at 25kph, that's not a safe speed on a footpath when other people/pedestrians are using it.

Hard to have sympathy for someone well off enough to make two bad decisions. Firstly spending that sort of money on a bike with that sort of power. And the second riding somewhere illegally. If I were going to spend that sort of money on what legally should be an offroad bike, I'd be buying one...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

Yep, understood, and I've followed it up with evidence to support both our feelings about them.

This bike/these bikes are never going to get e-conversions, and are basically super-fast carbon road bike(s). However, a salutary lesson on what to expect from the brand. What SHOULD happen..... This customer will recommend the brand to everyone he can.

Really? Although I didn't find out for a couple years, my Kona came with a spinning rivnut where a bottle cage (or battery) might be located. Original hole wasn't deburred, and rivnut wasn't tightened up correctly. I had to sort out the problem myself. I have a (lovely) Jamis Dakar sitting in...
