    Which Kit?

I sucessfully converted my Tek 830 MTB with a kit from Electric Bike Conversions in 2017 and would now like to convert my Dawes Audax bike. Being a light touring / road bike with 700c wheels and 25 / 28 tyres with drop handle bars I'm looking for something less bulky than the Trek conversion...

    Converting Road Bike

Thanks Frank much appreciated. My MTB conversion has gone very well, without which I'd now be off the road and has given me the confidence to tackle my Audax bike.

    Converting Road Bike

Thanks. I was looking at the Orbrea Gain D40, which looks like a great bike but have has a number of issues for what I want to do - limited power / range, integrated battery making charging off the bike impossible and having now seen one, probably won't easily take mudguards or a rack. As a...

    Converting Road Bike

Thanks guys, need to give this some more thought and will get back. Here's the bike I want to convert on tour in France pre knee op - of that helps? For simplicity I'm leaning towards front wheel conversion, two remaining niggles: 1. Will 28mm tyres provide sufficient purchase? My MTB has...

    Converting Road Bike

Thanks, You're saying just put the throttle on the top bar then? If front wheel is OK, I'd probably go that way? Can I ask what kit you have used in general to convert a drop handlebar road bike? The one problem I do have with my rack mounted battery on the MTB is that it won't take...

    Converting Road Bike

OK but how do I deal with the throttle etc with drop handlebars?

    Converting Road Bike

Road legal is fine, or at least it is on my MTB. As I said, something comparable would be great: Front wheel drive - if that works OK on thinner 28mm tyres? Long range. Throttle control as well as control panel using drop bars Easy to fit If possible rack battery mounted - so as to take panniers

    Converting Road Bike

I had a knee replacement 3-years ago and I've already converted my Trek MTB with front hub drive for touring, which has turned out great. As I have integrated gear / brake levers I did not change them for the e-bike conversion + was able to add the thumb operated throttle on flat bars. As you...

    Converting Road Bike

Many thanks that looks very interesting. though I wouldn't want to carry the battery power around on my back, the throttle lever on the brake is particularly nice. Is this basically standard kit or your own design?

    Converting Road Bike

In the absence of any answers, I take it my original presumption that they don't exist is correct?

    Converting Road Bike

Can anybody recommend a kit that will give a decent range, either front or rear wheel hub assistance, that could be used to convert a Dawes Audax with drop handlebars? I've been looking for a while now and they just don't seem to exist, except perhaps some sort of botched job. Thanks, Graham

    Torque Lock

Yes I thought that might be the case. Wow that's a serious bit of engineering. I've ordered the 12mm version which will hopefully do the trick. Many thanks for your help. Graham

    Torque Lock

That's great, many thanks. Does it matter it they're fitted on the right or left hand side?

    Torque Lock

I converted my MTB with the Electric Bike Conversion 250W front wheel kit last year, which has been very successful. However, whilst the wheel comes with torque washers I have since been advised that the addition of a torque arm would also be a good idea. Does anybody have any experience of...

Pedelec for touring and day rides

I'm not ready yet to convert my Joey as it has other benefits but I like what you've done - does it still fold + what sort of range do you get?
