    eZee Torq wanted

Hi Nick I have an Ezee Torq for sale and I live in Midsomer Norton, just south of Bath. The bike is 10months old and perfect in every way. I have changed my job and no longer need the Torq for commuting. Please let me know if you still have interest and give me a phone number such that i can...

Commuting: what do you carry with you?

Thanks Flecc, - again, two most useful texts. I read somewhere that the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres for the Torq were very difficult to fit due to their inherent stiffness. Did you find this to be the case? Do you think the Schwalbe tyres are really that much better that the standard...

Commuting: what do you carry with you?

I will be interested to know how you get on with changing the tyres. Its something I feel I ought to do too, but I've not got the courage to start. Tell me where you buy the tyres and, if your comments are OK, I'll bite the bullet and change them too.

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

My Torq was delivered back to me today from 50cycles who took it back to their workshop to fix the extensive brake judder. I have not yet had the chance to fully evaluate the bike following the change of brake levers, but a short ride still showed some judder. The replacement Tektro levers...

    Decent Lights

I use my Torq on an unlit cycle track, (disused railway). The LED supplied was useless and I choice a Light & Motion 'Solo Logic' Halogen light. The lens can be focused to give a spotlight type beam or diffused to give a broader, wider but less 'headlamp' type beam. It cost about £150 and has...

    new lithium bike tdeo12

It is my understanding from the media that Polonium 210 is an alpha emitter. If my 1959 Bsc (Chem) has any bearing, these should be protons, positively charged hydrogen nuclei. Because of their relative mass, they are easily stopped by other matter and do not have the intrinsic energy to cause...

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

And thank you too Flecc! Your web page on brake judder is excellent. If the brake levers really have to be changed, I can see that you will have to publish the 'Janet & John' blow-by-blow copy that will explain all!!

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

Thank you Ken for your response and explanation. It all makes sense now. My bike was supplied with the Diacompe SE8 levers. Are you saying that they should be replaced with your proposed alternative? Will the replacements be easy to fit, bearing in mind the electrical cut-out contacts etc.? Do...

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

Thank you for the info. I've done as you stated and I think there was a little play afterall. Its too wet at the moment for a test ride, but I'm hopeful!! I've not heard back yet from 50cycles about this, but its still early days yet. May I suggest another page in your excellent website about...

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

I cannot see or feel any 'play' in the headset with brakes applied as you suggest. I have read reports of people tightening the headset. How exactly can this be done? I am aware only of the Allan key in the centre of the handlebar mount. This was loose on delivery as the handlebars were...

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

It cannot do the motor any good to be 'vibrated' with this excessive judder. I think it best not to ride until a fix has been made.

Torq Problem: Offset front wheel - sticking vee brake - fork shudder

I cannot understand why the lever design for the front brake can affect the fork judder on braking. I have this problem too on a bike only three weeks old. The judder is so bad as to make the bike unsafe to ride on roads or in traffic. Surely the lever is just to apply pressure to the brake...

    Show us your bike!

Where did you obtain your Schwalbe tyres and were they easy to fit? What is an HID lamp. I asked 50cycles to replace the feeble LED front light with a Halogen buld. They reported that they had blown two bulbs in trying to do this and supplied my Torq with standard LED front lamp. This is useless...
