    Bottle Battery Repair.

I just bought a bottle battery with a dead BMS with the intention of pulling them all out, and following a tutorial I found where I'd have them taped in rows of 3, top to toe, and copy the wiring in the tutorial (even bought exact same BMS to be sure). Might have to give this post some more time...

Learning the (kind of) inexpensive way.

I did Saltdean to Worthing quite a lot last summer on my 8-Fun kit bike. Going through the back of Shoreham at 2 a.m. from my friends house was a lovely experience I must say!

Haha! Thanks :) I thought I'd accentuate what it has got, rather than try to make it look elegant or modern. Thanks re: the toggle switches - Taken from old air compressors. I like 'em! Yeah, got a few cans of NATO green paint and went to town on it. Fitting a loud horn on it tomorrow. People in...

Learning the (kind of) inexpensive way.

Thanks matey. Well, I'm not one to ignore advice from a vet. I'll keep the PB for romantic reasons but might look at using the brushless 28" wheel and battery I'm working on for a more practical bike. The only thing would be that road bikes and me don't mix well. 90% of my riding is along the...

Learning the (kind of) inexpensive way.

Hiyas! So since my baptism of stress into the E-bike world (bought a Powabyke Euro which quickly died in the rain), it's given me the opportunity to mess about with the bike with not much concern whether it'll work out or not. I never would have had the guts to open the controller casing if it...

    Hi there. Lee from Brighton.

Yes indeed! Yeah, in Summer, it really is the best. Some of my best memories are cruising along those routes.

    Wires are confusing me.

Thanks again Flecc. Yeah, I'm best off not pushing my luck. Although I am intent on fitting a 36v light to it still. Can't find any 36v toggle switches on ebay though - all momentary ones! ***Scratch that - Stopped typing in "36V" and loads for electric bikes are coming up. :) ***

    Wires are confusing me.

Thanks! While on a high, I decided to take the Li-ion battery from my old bike kit (not much life left in it, but still worth using) and wire it to the inside of the chassis, right on the bolts that go under the battery connectors for the lead-acid case. Works beautifully! So I've got the...

    Wires are confusing me.

Thrilled to bits to say I FIXED IT! All with old bits I had from a previous project I bought off someone else and left in the shed. And I've never done any kind of electrical gubbins before. Thanks again for all the help!

    Wires are confusing me.

I've stripped most of what confused me before and have crimped attachments where needed. Battery indicator LED on the throttle is working when ignition turned but no response after turning throttle. Tried controller to motor wires both ways around too. Not disheartened though. the controller I'm...

    Wires are confusing me.

Frank got back to within minutes! Of the 4 wires running from the motor: Red and green run down to the red wire from the motor. Yellow and blue run to the black wire from the motor. So knowing that, it's a case of attaching red and black, to the green and yellow of the Chinese controller. I'm...

    Wires are confusing me.

That's brilliant. Thanks very much for the help. I gave them a ring the other day but the gent I spoke to wasn't able to ID the exact issue. I'll give Frank a try! :)

    Wires are confusing me.

Luckily I got a replacement for £10 but I think that's possibly duffed now because of the mystery faulty element. Ah well...

    Wires are confusing me.

Sorry to bother youse with all the questions a week into joining! Right. Powabyke dead. Tried a new circuit and got permanent throttle problem still. Don't know if it's the ignition, throttle, controller or what. I've got a new non PB throttle I've fitted, and a nice simple brush controller...

Bafang 250w kit died up a hill. Battery was fine. Any ideas?

Thanks matey. I'll get on and get back to you. Thanks for the help!
