Recommend a fast ebike with an internal gear hub (IGH) ok for light off-road use?

Given your stated requirements for speed and power, I assume you have your own private land, or permission to access such, on which to use any e-bike in derestricted mode 'off road', as bridlepaths and similar facilities are part of the public highway system just as much as are tarmacked roads …

Wanted E Trike for a short lady

Very prompt response from the supplier:- 'Hi XXX, the shorteners are 12.5mm thick. This would increase the overall q-factor of the bike by 25mm. If this was a problem, shorter pedal spindles could help, but I would suggest that, especially for women who normally have a wider pelvis than...

Wanted E Trike for a short lady

Effectively causing the pedals to be further apart widthwise is certainly an issue when at or approaching one's maximum leg-stretch to reach the darned things, but once the cranks are at a suitable length, I honestly don't think it would have much effect. Certainly less effect that having to...

Wanted E Trike for a short lady

Thanks for that - as I said above, I was sure there would be more suppliers of such things, it's just the finding of them! Those crank shorteners look really good.

Wanted E Trike for a short lady

Good luck getting something to fit your wife! Us shorties need to stick together, share resources and use them. Most of the time, being underheight is just an inconvenience which can even be amusing with the right attitude, but when it spills over into inability to do perfectly normal things...

Wanted E Trike for a short lady

I am a similar height to your wife. Highpath Engineering - and there may well be other, similar companies - look as if they might soon be responsible for changing my life with their range of crank 'accessories'. Someone here put me onto them. Click on 'products and services'...

How small/short a person can e-folders be adjusted for?

Well, as I wrote upthread, I emailed several different suppliers almost a week ago with some very basic questions about measurements. However, I have had only one response - and, fortunately, that was a constructive, helpful response and the conversation is ongoing. I've told them that I'm...

    Pendleton Sommersby 2018

I'm a small, old woman. I used to be quite a serious cyclist until age and other issues stopped me a few years ago, and now I'm planning to get going again with the aid of an e-bike. Please don't concern yourself about the tyres, you can get stuff to put in them(it's usually referred to a...

    looking for electric step through

Daisy, I am a small lady who used to be a very keen, quite serious, cyclist until age and other issues overtook me. There is a far more limited range of sizes available in e-bikes than in 'proper' bikes and you might want to be looking at a step through with 24"wheels, which is certainly what...

How small/short a person can e-folders be adjusted for?

Many thanks for the offer. I have looked at the MiRider - it's one of the few bikes I have been able to actually see - but the killer (for me) is that my joint issues will (sometimes) absolutely require a step-through rather than a step-over. And that's not going to change, unfortunately.

    Bike for a short ar*e

Ah, it's the 'just go to a store' which is the issue when I rely on public transport and live in a rural area … if I could, I would, it'd be a real luxury! It seems my options are down to buying 'sight unseen' from a reliable specialist supplier with a record of good customer service, a couple...

    Bike for a short ar*e

In theory you have a good idea with the child's size bike, but in practice, and for most underheight people, the 'child's bike' idea isn't likely to be as useful as most people might think - or as we shorties ourselves often hope! The problem is that adults - whatever their height - are...

How small/short a person can e-folders be adjusted for?

You do remember what Soylent Green was, don't you? And that it's all happening next year? I think I was working in Austria when the film came out - early 1970s wasn't it?

How small/short a person can e-folders be adjusted for?

Wot? No remote control? I'd like to have it arrive home before I do - and unpack itself ... What's the use of an internet-enabled home if someone still has to do the grunt work?
