Thanks for that,very helpful. For some reason I thought 300 wh battery was slightly shorter but can see from your info I was wrong. Will now look for a 300 wh battery to purchase as a back up.Thanks again.

A group of us are planning a visit to the Allgau in Bavaria in aprill/may. I have a bosch 500 battery and no problems with it. the panned excursion will be rather hilly and we plan about 60 miles a day. My fellow ebikers have newer bikes with 620 batteries. If I by a bosch 300 as a back battery...

Last spring I bought a the Cube cross hybrid race allroad 500 which has the CX motor and the 500 battery. I've done 1500 mile on mixed trails and roads in south Wales and Brittany, so mainly lumpy. I've been really pleased with it but would probably agree that the CX is overkill for what I do...
