Riding postion is it significantly important?

It’s a convenience thing. Most people in Holland (despite their height) jump off the seat when stopped to touch the ground.

Riding postion is it significantly important?

Dutch bikes, Oma and opa fiets have a very upright position with little weight forward on the handle bars. With pedal at the highest point, leg from knee to thigh should just be under horizontal. Back is almost straight. I have a Batavia Old Dutch and it is great to ride. Must work as you see...

    New Gtech ebike

It doesn’t hang about. But looking at the speed and riding style he must be a lot younger and fitter than me. I looked at the bike, 6 kilos heavier, but it does have suspension and gears. Hate the mudguards though. No use for commuting. Also another 150 needed. If it was closer to the gtech or...

Who is riding that? Chris Boardman? It must have been doing 25 on the flat before the hill :-)

If cycling with other techs, no problem. The gearing without battery makes it more difficult. As a commuter bike or for solo rides I think it is ideal. I have a 8 mile round trip commute with hills and it is great. The bike does climb a decent gradient hill without a problem, but steep ones do...

Wheel locks such as the Axa defender are also good if you want to secure the wheel and are after a lightweight lock. I wouldn’t recommend this as a sturdy lock for long duration parking, but handy if popping into a shop etc, especially with the long chain attachment. I use£ these on my bikes in...

Very interesting report. Seems like the Abus Granite or Kryptonite New York are the way to go.

    New Gtech ebike

I just tried it on a seriously steep hill. One I can’t ride on my foldup. I was able to climb standing up, but the battery lost a bit of charge. It did it though.

I weigh 85 kilo. What is your experience? Yes no lock on the battery. No problem if leaving at station as I will remove it, but inconvenient if only leaving bike for short duration. I still have 10 days to return. Going out on another ride now.

Thanks for sharing Leigh. That will certainly make a difference.

Hello, Given the investment in ebikes and the potential for theft, I am looking at suitable security for my bike. I didn’t see anything specific in the forum, but I would be surprised if it hasn’t been discussed. Is it worthy of its own sticky or section somewhere? I did find this interesting...

    Hello from Sevenoaks

Hi David, I called your number a few times yesterday (and also dropped by the shop). The van was there and security gate open, but you were closed. I did have a good look at your bikes online, but I think the design and size of gtech will suit me fine now that I have it in my possession...
