Folks, My worst fears have been realized, but thanks for all your help - really useful information. Out of interest I asked Europa Bikes for a quote for a replacement battery in 2008 when I bought the bike, which was £158.00. I guess prices have steadily gone up!

Hello I am having trouble with the battery on my synergie mistral, it is cutting out repeatedly. It only seems to cut out when using high power (sport mode). Turning the battery off then on again brings power back on, but only for a short while. I have only started using the bike again...

As a mistral owner I too have experienced some recovery of the battery after losing power assistance, but I would never have deemed this to be recharging of the battery.

Thanks for that Lloyd, I have found the Shimano website almost useless for information about their range, as to which is better than which. Are you getting this information from another source that you can share with us? Jon

Sounds like bad luck Mussels I've been doing 24 miles a day on my Synergie Mistral with my made-in-China Heng Shin Tires, going on-road, off-road, rocky tracks, towpaths and unadopted roads without any punctures yet. ..but that also sounds like the famous last words!

Hello I've been riding my Synergie Mistral for a couple of weeks and have found the gearing range unsatisfactory. I've been reading some of the recent threads about gearing with interest, but I have some questions. This is probably due to my last experience modifying bikes was 25 years ago :)...

Bob, I've had my Synergie Mistral for two weeks. I'm planning on two or three days per week cycling to work (weather permitting), a 24 mile round trip, in lieu of a 29 mile round trip car journey, which should pay for the bike in a year. Jon
