    Lithium Grease for BBS01 250W

Replies from other places have indicated that Mobilgrease SHC 100 is the formulation for electric motors and it is available cheaply on eBay.

    Lithium Grease for BBS01 250W

I have on good authority that what I want is Mobilgrease 28 or Aeroshell 22 or Mobilith SHC. The last is cheaply available on eBay but there are three varieties: Mobilith SHC 100 or Mobilith SHC 220 or Mobilith SHC 460. Anybody know what the numbers mean and the effect they have, please?

    Lithium Grease for BBS01 250W

I have a packet of black grease from Land Rover wheel or steering bearings that I believe is Lithium and wonder if I can use it for the pinion bushes in my motors if they need doing? If not, what is best suggested for UK availability, please?

    Alfine 11 and Bafang BBS01B 36v 250W

Thanks for your reply vfr400. That is a very interesting thought about the gear changing. I will keep that in mind.

    Alfine 11 and Bafang BBS01B 36v 250W

I have two of the BBS01B Bafang each powering through a Shimano Alfine 8 IGH with gears 28 to 86 gear inches. The one is on my 406 wheeled Moulton TSRA8 and the other on an On One Inbred with 650B wheels. I do not large mileage in any given years and I am happy with them both but I have just...

Bacchetta Giro 20 and in wheel motor

Interesting conversion Pentium. I normally use aluminium for brackets; I like to drill and tap:) I bought a Moulton TSRA8 last summer and fitted a Bafang to that. It was a little complicated because of issues with the swinging arm pivot bolt but they were overcome. The Pashley and Bradfon on...

Help! Woosh bike battery, need help with mounting frog battery, somewhere somehow, safely

I have bought three Bafang mid drives and two batteries from Woosh over the past few years and have recommended them to several other purchasers because they are helpful and are not selling junk. You do, however, need some mechanical aptitude to fit the motor and even more to fit the battery on...

Bacchetta Giro 20 and in wheel motor

Thanks for the advice. When I had the Bafang on the front I had a Shimano Alfine 8 or an 11 hub gear in the back so I think the spacing is 135mm. On the weight up front. I don't know that the bike had a problem so much as me but that picture is making me think again. I see from my ride notes...

Bacchetta Giro 20 and in wheel motor

Hi all I've been a member here awhile but really have a need for help. I have three bikes with Bafang 36v mid drives. Tried one of the motors on my SWB Bacchetta Giro 20 and didn't like the weight up front. I am thinking of fitting an in wheel motor but am not sure whether a front (20") or rear...

Returning to cycling and new to this forum

I lived in Welling which was in Kent in those days and started cycling to Dartford Common with mates to blast over the heathland. Fixed wheel and cowhorn handle bars on a Triumph frame. Walking was with Boy Scout camping trips which were usually out around Meopham, Eynsford and Yalding, afair...

Thanks Parky Herself was subjected to a bicycle ride in 1970 and made a vow of "never again". She is very good at keeping vows.:) We have separate hobbies. I see you are in Kent. I started cycling and walking there as a Boy Scout in the early '60's (we'd moved out of Hackney). Lovely county.

Thanks. I've gone back to Marathon Plus Tours. I am really a road rider who likes a forestry road, bridlepath or tow path now and again. Mud in the park was an unwanted diversion! I had a Trice before and it was a magnificent load carrier for camping trips. If I decide to start camping again...

Thanks for letting me on the forum. I found you from a reply to an electric motor question I posted on YACF. Up until four months ago I hadn't cycled for 30 months. Various reasons including a touch of cancer, and a fall off a bike in my recovery period resulting in a slow loss of interest...
