Pro Connect TopLight XS connection question

I noted this week that my rear light was no longer working on my Pro Connect so have today had a little look. The connections looked a bit fragile so decided to redo them BUT didn't note which way around they went ! Have one cable with a white strip and the other solid black, one terminal has...

What were the main worries queries you had before purchasing your e-bike?

Being a shortie my main issue was frame size and that is something you should really only determine in the flesh. Tried all possible e-bikes in my local area but finally took a gamble on the Pro-connect based on available advise - lucky for me it proved to be spot on. The other main issue...

Do you think that e-bikes have a role to play in sustainable transport in the UK?

I think with all the recent talk on cycling safety there might be more of a push with regards training (mandatory cycling proficiency !) and that 'might' encourage more people to try cycling again/for the first time. Any bike can have a significant role but the cost of the more reliable...

Advantages and disadvantages of e-bikes over conventional bikes?

As all the others plus: Advantages: Fairly consistent commute to work regardless of conditions (both weather and mine !) Disadvantages: Longer bike length - affecting storage optiions Poor availability of local dealers therefore dependancy on remote buying, time will tell whether I get...

How did you find out about electric bikes?

Saw a couple around my local area and researched options from there. Visited available dealers close enough and then I found this forum !

What are the major factors that persuaded you to get an electric bike?

Moved to a job within 8 miles of home, occasionally cycled on a MTB however the effort up the hill involved put me off from doing it everyday or when it was raining (boil in the bag impression likely) or the wind was blowing. If I wanted to go to a shop/post office at lunch time I also drove...

You might find the following link useful http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp Its the technical docs from the Shimano site. Under the 8 speed hub section there is a good document explaining how to put the various bits back together...

    Pro-Connect questions

Baboon, I thought I counted 23 teeth on my original sprocket, have changed down to a 16 teeth sprocket, now feel that I am able to put in the peddle effort I want, have seen a slight range reduction but nothing to impact on my daily commute distance. Went straight to 16 as most of my journey is...

    Adjustment of gears

Rustyrocker, all the guidance I have is for it to be set in 4th - see the link posted by lectureral on the 19th, red marks for 7sp and yellow marks for 8sp. I only noted slippage in 8th gear, all others I tried (got no lower than 4th) were fine.

    Adjustment of gears

It is just where the gear cable comes out of the 'shifter', just turn it with your fingers no tools required.

    Adjustment of gears

lectureral, if your set-up is the same as my Pro Connect then it would appear to be the same issue I had. Put the gears into 4th, you should see 2 yellow marks on the rear gear assembly, if they are not aligned then there is a barrel adjuster on the gear shifter on the handlebars, turning that...

    Agattu First Ride Report

The Aldi one goes on as far as the screw, lock it down and it should stay in place sufficiently to pump up the tyres, admittedly it is not lock tight so don't move the hand holding it in place around too much or it might come off. Hopefully 50 cycles can confirm that they are the same valve...

    Agattu First Ride Report

I presume they are the same valves as the Pro Connect...in which case no don't unscrew the 'screwy bit'. Didn't get a pump with the Pro, I bought a pump from ALDI (£3.99) after letting all the air out of my rear tyre whilst investigating pump connection options !! The ALDI pump is listed as...

Agattu vs. Pro Connect - HELP!!

As a comparison I can confirm that the Pro Connect lights run straight off the battery. You can have them switched on even if you don't want to switch on the pedal assist mode.

Agattu vs. Pro Connect - HELP!!

And here (hopefully) is a photo of the Pro Connect 45cm handlebars..... Pro Connect handlebars Perhaps not as straight as I was anticipating but comfortable when riding. plus a couple of others as I was previously asked to provide some: Rear Fullbike Battery
