cheers, it'll be good to know. I've had some success offsetting the throttle voltage range to better match the reqd. controller input range but it doesn't soften the kick when the motor starts, and can provoke E04 alerts, so not worth while doing. Interesting to know if it's a motor...

I built my TSDZ8 bike two days ago and it's great except I need a throttle: not for being a fat slob and not wanting to pedal, but to do the mule track 600m long to my house. It's up and down and narrow with steep dodgy drops in places. My two TSDZ2 bikes had surprisingly smooth and contollable...

    What Tablet

I was holding out for a Nexus 7, but got an iPad2 first, then the Nexus. The nice thing about the iPad is the SmartCover and instant switch on, very good build quality and slick and intuitive interface. The Nexus is half the price but half the screen area, good but not brilliant build quality...

yip... more comparative road tests/rallies like the Pike's Peak would be good; doubtless they'll come in the New Electric Age..

@flecc ta mucho, I fancied the Kalkhoffs: the Germans do have a habit of making things that work properly; but have jumped in and ordered a Tonaro BigHit anyhow; the customer feedback mentioned hill climbing ability a lot, and that's what swung it.

@d8veh cheers for that; well I've taken the easy way out just now and ordered a Tonaro BigHit, but I quite fancy building a leccybike too, so I'll look into your suggestion; looks like it should be a bit of a goer:-)

hello from the Sierra Nevada, España.

@Eagle cheers for that; I had a look at a Comply this morning and I reckon you're right; the weight distribution shouldn't be a problem. In three years time I'll probably have made up a replacement centralized battery pack, anyway.

hmph...they didn't chicken out: I did :-) Luckily they were there when someone told me about the €3000 fine for walking on the railway track, so I was able to bow out without losing too much cred. If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space.... My Bighit might be in...

hi, Lynda, thanks for that; I like the looks of the Tonaro, except that the battery is out the tail; does that not tend to make the back-end wiggle a bit? El Chorro! Impressive place; took my kids up to do the Camino del Rey; chickened out; now through it on a Tonaro would be a first..

hello folks, this is a copy/paste from my Introduction Post--- hiya, had my first go on a hub drive kit clunker last week and am hooked. I never considering biking here because of the hills and the heat, but I reckon an e-bike could get me out more, give me exercise, and save the planet...

hello from the Sierra Nevada, España.

hiya, had my first go on a hub drive kit clunker last week and am hooked. I never considering biking here because of the hills and the heat, but I reckon an e-bike could get me out more, give me exercise, and save the planet. I'm 6'1" or 1m85, 85cm inside leg, 85kg, looking at losing...
