Connecting identical packs in parallel with a single BMS

Thanks mate, I'm leaning more and more towards your way of thinking - a BMS on each pack. Here's a comprehensive post and discussion on another forum re. the issues involved. https://electricbike.com/forum/forum/knowledge-base/batteries-aa/20725-paralleling-bms-protected-li-ion-packs Cheers, John

Connecting identical packs in parallel with a single BMS

Hi, thanks for your reply. It's for extra capacity mainly. I'm still a little confused. Imagine 3 packs like the one pictured above side-by-side. The right-most (master) one will have the BMS, the pack + and - leads and the balance wires. The other 2 will only be connected to the master by...

Connecting identical packs in parallel with a single BMS

Hi, I want to connect 3 identical 6P packs' parallel strings together side-by-side to operate as a larger pack off a single BMS - 2 questions: 1/ would it be sufficient to make the nickel strip connections between packs, illustrated by red lines in the pic below, to just 4 cells out of each 6...

Giant Twist RS2 - can't locate cadence sensor!

Latest idea: buy the Twist Express cadence sensor and try to wire that into the RS2 controller in place of the speed wire coming from the motor - assuming they both work the same way.

Giant Twist RS2 - can't locate cadence sensor!

Still stumped. I tried cutting the white (speed) cable from the motor to the controller but that just resulted in an error condition and no power. I've also read of a keypad combination to change locale - power-on followed by 5 presses of the Giant logo button but that did nothing. I think it...

Giant Twist RS2 - can't locate cadence sensor!

I recently acquired a pair of 10+ year old Giant pedelecs - a Twist Express and a Twist RS2 which are almost identical models models except... The Express has its cadence sensor mounted on the rear triangle detecting a magnet affixed to a rear wheel spoke but I can't locate the equivalent on...

    Small front motor Q85 / Q75?

Looking for the lightest possible front hub motor for a sub-11Kg 20" folder, I got excited by the Q75 at 1.2Kg only to hear that it doesn't support a disc brake, is this correct? And if so, is there any hack to enable a disc to be mounted? By drilling holes or some other means? Why would they...

Updated fast-folding ebike gets a cleaner look, sheds some weight

Cool, thanks. If it's just a question of interfacing terminals together I'll figure something out.

Updated fast-folding ebike gets a cleaner look, sheds some weight

Is it standard for your Brompton kit that it can take a Bosch tool battery? Or is that some special modded version?

    Brompton Cute Q70 question

Thanks for getting back. I've just had a look at your website. What a mine of information! What's the current wait time on your Brompton kit? And do you sell bits separately? Like say, if I just wanted a motor wheel? Can't see a throttle on the Brompton kit. Is that available as an option?
