Insurance for electric bike - looking for a recommendation and advice

As per my previous reply, you can get liability for as little as £13 per year. Generally home insurance also doesn't cover liability.

Insurance for electric bike - looking for a recommendation and advice

If you do add it to your home insurance, remember that this will not cover liability i.e. if you hit a car, you will still be liable to pay damages if it's your fault. For cheap liability cover, you can sign up for the commuter membership here (https://britishcycling.org.uk) and if you are a...

    Accessories for a bike

I'll take a couple of bits with me but will be leaving my bike at the station during the day so bags full of stuff is not really an option for me. It's not really a super long distance so if I did get a puncture, I'd probably just walk it home anyway

    Accessories for a bike

Thanks for the input guys I think I've got everything sorted now except the mudguards. I don't understand what all the different sizings are and whether or not specific mudguards will fit my bike. I had someone tell me that because my bike has a front suspension fork, traditional mudguards...

    Accessories for a bike

Hi guys, A big thank you for everyone that helped me select a bike. For anyone not involved in that thread, I ended up buying an ex display Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 400 for £1350 when all the discounts were considered. Given I am a complete novice when it comes to biking of any sort, I would...

Need help choosing between these bikes

I think i've decided to go for the CX motor bike just for the £250 saving on what is a very similar spec bike other than the motor. £1350 seems like a pretty good deal for a CUBE-Cross-Hybrid-Pro-400-2018 which was orginally £2000. Thanks to everyone for the help and input given - it's really...

Need help choosing between these bikes

Quick question that just occured to me. If you fit a de-restrictor to use off road but set it back to restricted at 15mph when riding on the road, is that enough to make it legal? I know for example if you fit a 500w motor and set it to only use 250w, it's still illegal

Need help choosing between these bikes

I understand it now. This is exactly what I was trying to ask earlier. I don't think I climb any ridiculous hills so I shouldn't need the extra torque

So it does actually create resistance in the pedals which was what I was trying to determine earlier. So if you decide to ride it without assistance or ran out of batteries, it would be a much less enjoyable experience. This also means that pedalling in general even with assistance should be a...

I get that but the cx is a more powerful motor no? Maybe more powerful is a poor choice of words given the 250w limit but it had 50% more torque at least

Please feel free to enlighten me!

But this should mean that pedalling isn't any harder, it's just that the motor has to work harder to go faster and if I don't de-restrict it, it's surely not an issue?
