I saw there was some discussion recently about the merits of Chinese bikes compared to European machines.

Anybody favouring the latter will look at this and say, 'I rest my case!'

not everyone.
because a lot of expensive German designs are eccentric, especially in frame designs, pushing one aspect forward to the detriment of the rest.
German bikes are generally better fitted but not usually better designed.
