Seeing that it is only going around the lawn, you don't need a battery, just a long mains lead!
Use that kind of extension lead seen in movies. Where the mower goes round in a circle, hitting the off switch when it hits the reel.

I already discovered that buying an Electric mower means my wife mows the lawn more than I do! She's never done it before!
I still do the ride-on mower parts... so the above might have the same effect on her!

Add a joystick to regulate the amount of power to each wheel & that's steering cracked....
