I think Farage is charming, charismatic, an excellent speech maker and easy to follow, but when the time to deliver arrives, he his found to be full of pi$$ & wind.

Is that a fair summary?
It's a b*******s summary!

Give me a specific thing he has said that in your (humble) opinion is 'full of pi$$ and wind'.

In your own time.

Talking about when we leave the EU he stated:

“We have £10 Billion a year featherbed which is going to be free money that we can spend on schools, the NHS or whatever it is.”

Pi$$ & Wind.

He has claimed some good ideas though:

• Hold a national referendum every two years on the issues of greatest importance to the public, gathered via an approved petition, provided it has 2m signatures.

Ho, ho, ho...

And something that really helps the poor, abolition of inheritance tax.

That is true. Give or take the odd billion but basically true.

People work harder if they know them and their family can hold onto it. Why should anybody be allowed to take 40% of your saved money. **** that.

Inheritance tax doesn't affect the poor, does it? Which was my point.

Overview

Inheritance Tax is a tax on the estate (the property, money and possessions) of someone who’s died.
There’s normally no Inheritance Tax to pay if either:

  • the value of your estate is below the £325,000 threshold
  • you leave everything above the £325,000 threshold to your spouse, civil partner, a charity or a community amateur sports club
If the estate’s value is below the threshold you’ll still need to report it to HMRC.
If you give away your home to your children (including adopted, foster or stepchildren) or grandchildren your threshold can increase to £475,000.
If you’re married or in a civil partnership and your estate is worth less than your threshold, any unused threshold can be added to your partner’s threshold when you die. This means their threshold can be as much as £950,000.

You're going to kick yourself!
Here goes. Brace yourself in case it hurts.
4700kg is 4.7 metric tons or 5.18 imperial tons. I think that's a bit more than 3 tons!

Anyway, according to Wiki, the launch mass of the module was 16,400 kg . Maybe it's the difference in weight between when on Earth and the Moon, which is about a factor of 6.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Lunar_Module
Check the wet mass and the dry mass figures- and remember they only had a few percent fuel remaining when landing and as you surmise whatever was remaining was 1/6 compared to Earth - also the landing engine was cut off a few feet above the surface when the contact light given by 5ft long sensor probes > http://heroicrelics.org/info/lm/lunar-surface-probe.html

Did you read my boring long post about those contact probes Wicky ? They did their job at warning the crew of imminent contact, but the motors kept burning right until the footpads touched the surface as requested by the crew themselves to ensure a softer landing, hence the extra protection on the feet need because of jet blast.
That wouldn't have made a great deal of difference to the mass anyway although the extra covering did add around 30 Ibs to the module weight.

Missed that - I'll look back

Admittedly Apollo 11 powered all the way to a soft landing as Armstrong was a fraction late in engine cutoff - too soft not availing the craft with the crumple allowance in landing legs hence the big step down to take his giant leap:)

All other LM landings engine cut off was at least a couple – few feet off the surface just after contact light.

Despite having been a beneficiary of inheritance, not enough to hit any tax thresholds, I do think that inheritance is a bad thing. Perhaps inheritance tax should be 100% and no trusts or opt outs. Why should the offspring of somebody have a much better financial start in life than some other citizen?. It would allow other taxes to be reduced.

Absolute nonsense. You'd kill off the whole economy. You obviously know nothing about human motivation.

Also
The tax allowances can be accumulated by surviving spouse. ie) If a lady has had 3 husbands, survived each her estate can actually claim 4 allowances.(Her own and 3 inherited)
You, d think the old allowances would be of little value but the unused portion is turned to a %age. (Eg Allowance in 1980 was lets say £120k, and deceased left £30k outside marriage, allowance transferable would be 90/120,75%). (But only upto upper limit mentioned, but can be product of many relationships)
This transfer of allowances was brought in around 10 years ago, make sure solicitor you use knows about it. Not all do, use a Probate solicitor upto speed with all current policies)
Authorities do try and make sure unused allowances are used up.
Personally think IHT should be scrapped.
Why should all your hard work go to outside those you chose, and its a tax on already heavily taxed capital. Accepted you dont pay CGT on deceased's property sale( only IHT and then only in certain circumstances) but the persom has spent their live's paying tax to accumulate anything.

The former Ukip boss has pledged support for the Brexit Party founded by Catherine Blaiklock
A NEW "Brexit Party" backed by Nigel Farage has raised £1million in three weeks, it was claimed today.

The party's founder said she has 200 potential candidates lined up - and threatened to challenge the Tories if they sell out Brexit.
Former City trader Catherine Blaiklock has insisted she is serious about turning the Brexit Party into a major political force.

The party was registered three weeks ago, and received public backing from ex-Ukip boss Mr Farage in The Sun.

Ms Blaiklock told the Telegraph she has already received "seven-figure pledges" from supporter.

She said backers include top lawyers and successful business figures who have never previously dabbled in politics.

Small donations, oh sure!
