i have spoken to him today and as long as the batt is working and charging there is a good chance it can be recelled but it is not a 100% repair as it depends on the bms.

he is the only person in the uk that can offer this work and custom jobs are backlogged for at least a year there that busy and atm there is no web site but here is some pics.

yamaha uses uart programming so more easy to do those batts but the bosch bms and others with can bus is a different story and a pita.

he can not do the power tube batts because the way they are put together and the ribbon cables and sensors.

What are 'custom jobs' - is it a year's wait for all re-celling work or are 'custom jobs' something else?

The inability to re-cell some brands of battery packs is often mentioned due to the BMS being CANBUS and so forth. It would be useful if there were a list on the forum somewhere detailing battery packs that can't be re-celled due to this 'feature'!

My 4 year old Bosch battery that has only be charged 30 or so times, only used for 500 miles is deader than the proverbial parrot, won't charge either via the charger or by linking it to another 36v battery. Pressing the button on the side does nothing, very disappointed on Bosch, I take it that it is now a brick & of no further use to anyone?

if the bms is dead then there is no saving it bar a different bms and use it on another motor controller.

tho as it has such low usage id get hold of them and ask for a replacement as others have got them in the past it is worth a shot.

also the new smart batts will not work on any of the older motors

If the cell pack is ok , then the inner cell pack is of some value to use on a generic pedelec set up by fitting a new generic BMS.

the problem with these batts are if it is low on charge and say left for a while the bms will drain the cell bank it is connected to to 0v it then bricks the bms and looses its can bus signal so you cant recell them.

What battery is it you have? If its a powerpack then yes certainly.
Do you have a price to recell a working but tired Powerpack Rack 400 (2016 approx)?
