Intermittent loss of power

Hi there, I purchased second-hand Woosh Big Bear and Petite bikes a year ago. They both have intermittent loss of power whether fully charged or not. Is there anyone who could fix them as purchasing 2x £325 for new replacements seems very expensive. Thanx in advance for any useful advice.

?? loss of power is a bit vague? perhaps a few more details as to when and where and if anything preceded etc..

?£325 - for battery packs??

My old banger bike, (not in icon pic) can loose battery power when going over bumps in the rd as the old plastic mounting lugs have warped with sun heat and some have snapped off, a lil hdpe cut from a soap bottle as a wedge and a cable tie sorted me out 99% of the time ;)

If batteries were ever plugged in while turned on?? the resulting sparks and arcs can damage the connecting plates and spring mechanisms - try testing with a plastic probe that your contacts are all sprung well and clean.

Sorry it's £325 each for a replacement battery direct from Woosh. Intermittent loss of power when battery fully charged, half charged or nearly empty, as per the handlebar display. Can be working fine then just cuts out. Have read is because batteries are old!

How old is old, and have the batteries been in regular use, or long term stored?

You could buy one new battery and see if that solves one problem... If you need new, £325 from a reputable source is not a disaster.

Batteries may be out of balance or simply past their best.
What one needs to do is to fully charge them until the charger LED goes green then use a meter to obtain a proper voltage reading and let us know the reading.

there are all sorts of reasons an ebike cuts out. generally if the control panel shuts down when the motor cuts off, it's a battery issue, but if it stays on, the cause is elsewhere.

Do they cut out only when the motor's working hard such as climbing? That and both bikes being affected could be down to the batteries sagging through old age or long use. If it cuts out with gentle riding on rough tracks the battery connectors can be replaced separately for a tenner or two but try cleaning the contacts first.
The Big Bear design needs a stronger battery so it will cost a bit more but for that you get sustained pulling power and the benefits of a hub motor.
