    I've resigned.

OK, I've resigned from my job and I oficially finished today. Hopefully this will mean I get lots more miles in on my bikes. I've been challenged to a 45 mile ride on a non electric bike :( in the summer and have no excuse since I've now got plenty of time on my hands. Anyway, happy new year...

    Deleting PMs

how do you delete PMs? I know it will be easy but I can't find a delete button. ... Help! ;)

    Rumbled

Ok, today was the Glasgow to Edinburgh run with 'pedal for Scotland' I wasn't doing the run but had arranged to meet a young chap and his sister when they reached the halfway point which is close to my home. Now, there was a reason we'd set up this meeting. He'd recently beat a Strava time of...

    A technical question.

OK, this is just an idea but hopefully someone in the know will be able to tell me. I have a Kudos Tourer and Kudos Typhoon. If I wired the bottle battery from the Typhoon into the Tourer, would it work? It's an idea I have to increase the range and help the weight distribution.

    The Thumbs up

I was out playing today and after 25 miles I was 1 mile from home. It's uphill and reaches about 12% at the steepest. I put my spare battery on just before the start of the climb. This made the climb easier. It must have also made it look easy to the cars coming the other way. Nearing the...

    Stealth ebike for 99p

An ebike shop opened in Linlithgow last year and more people in the area seem to know about electric bikes now. When I'm out on the Tourer people recognise it's an ebike. The Typhoon still catches them out, so, I bought a 2 litre bottle of IRN BRU and put the label from it round the battery...

The great Scottish ebike hill climb challenge.

OK. First off, the following post must be read with a pinch of salt. After a couple of threads on here I decided a hill climb test was in order. Invites were sent out and the crowd gathered. Unlike Bristol, Falkirk council wouldn't close the road. The day came and only 2 manufacturers turned...

Woosh Santana CD. Hill climbing and gear changing.

I took my wife's Santana CD to a longish climb this morning due to reading about the gear changing and hill climbing ability. The steepest bit of the hill is about 13 or 14 % according to Strava and my VDO bike computer. I'm about 82kg. The santana got up it but not on throttle alone I...

    My new mini pump.

OK, I bought a Lezyne HV drive black mini pump. It came today so I thought I'd give it a try. I let the tyre right down on the Typhoon. The pump blew it up ok but it is harder work than my faithful Crivit mini foot pump. However it takes up much less space than the foot pump and it's now...

    Which mini pump?

Whilst out on my bikes I'm usually well packed down: spare battery, Crivit foot pump, tools, repair kits, spare tube and bottles of drinks. On the Tourer this isn't a problem but on the Typhoon I think I'm carrying too much. I've got a week long jaunt planned for the Typhoon and was thinking of...

    Just one of those days.

I decided to go out on the Typhoon today since it was warm, dry & sunny. Riding along peacefully through Linlithgow when an elderly chap in a Vauxhall decided to pull out from the side of the road just as I got to him. I did a nice rear wheel skid which must have looked impressive to everyone...

    Nod of approval.

I was out on the Typhoon yesterday and went up a steep hill beside Polmont ski slope. At the top is a golf course on both sides of the road. I went up about 13 mph which required a fair bit of effort from me. As I neared the top 3 elderly golfers were crossing the road. One spoke to the other...

    I've reached my pinnacle.

I tried to beat my top speed today but I can't. I don't think changing the tyres will help much, it's the gearing I guess. My legs don't want to spin any faster. So, 35 mph seems to be my best on the flat. My next challenge is to see the furthest I can go on one charge of the battery. It's...

    Tyres! yes,again;)

The Typhoon tyres make a whining noise like a turbo charger on one of the cycle paths near me. Now in my quest to see how fast I can get I figure this noise is some of my power being used not to propel me onwards to new speeds. They're 29x2.1 what size of tyres would fit on instead. If you go...

    Well I failed.

After my post about 35 mph on the flat with the Typhoon, I decided to see if the Tourer could do better. I got to 31 mph and had to give up. My legs weren't going as fast as when on the Typhoon but I had the spare battery on the rack which makes it one heavy begger. I might try again if the wind...

    A nice early morning run.

I finished a 12 hour night shift at about 06:30 this morning. When I went to my car I had to de-ice my windscreen. I got home about 20 minutes later in a nice sunny morning. By 08:00 I had my bike out and did 20 miles. It turned out warm. So I went to the Helix. The horses are finished and...

My new top speed: Vol 2

After I posted about my downhill top speed I decided to try and get some speed on the flat. My new top speed on the flat is 35 mph. Legs spinning madly, I went for it. I lasted about a couple of hundred yards but I did it. My previous best on the flat was 33 mph and I thought I'd never beat it...

    E bike hire.

I've been using my Kudos for almost 3 years and in that time I've only seen a few e bikes. Now, however, there is e bike hire starting in my town. http://www.thehelix.co.uk/news-and-events/events/electric-bike-demo-day/ Maybe in the future I won't be so lonely. :)

    My new top speed.

I tried to make the 50mph club but failed. I did however, achieve a new top speed on the Typhoon. I guess I need a steeper hill.

    Kudos Typhoon

I’ve been out playing on a Kudos Typhoon for a couple of weeks and decided it’s time to do a report on Pedelecs. First off, I’ve had a Kudos Tourer for nearly 3 years and I find myself comparing the Typhoon to the Tourer. They’re different animals. The Typhoon looks good when you take...
