    Bosch Lighting Connection Whereabouts?

Can anyone tell me where the 6v output for lighting connection is on the latest Bosch system. Says in the manual that there is one and also the button on the so called human interface suggests that the output/s can be switched on. I have looked in the obvious places but cannot see it.

    The Younger Generation and E-Bikes

I don't really know why but I have always had it in mind that 17, 18 year olds would have no interest in E-bikes. Well, a trip into Halfords with my pedelec opened my eyes. Popped in, taking my bike with me. No sooner had I got to the desk, several staff arrived. All youngsters and all...

    Bosh Dongle

Gave up the idea of making some sort of dongle. Ordered one from the interweb. Works well but only cuts in a 19mph. No use at all into a head wind as I cannot reach 19 mph. Any ideas? Have emailed makers and await response. My only doubt is the polarity of the connection, Both wires were...

    Bosch Crank DIY

I am struggling to find a decent rear rack that will fit my KTM 29er. Have tried several from the local bike shop and halfords, these being intended for 700c bikes. All sit too low to the type. Have picked up a seat post mounted version, will work but sits very high. Anyone have any...

    Bosch Crank DIY

Hi all Hypothetical question at the moment. 10kg, non electric hybrid. Rim and not disk brake setup. 700C wheels. Black hubs, spkes and rims. Wish to add a read hub drive (500w?) throttle control only. Would prefer the hub drive to be black an not silver. Must be good for 22 mph, assisted on...

Wissy, most interesting reading not only your posts but the many and varied responses. Your are certainly doing your homework but am I the only one frustrated by the fact that you are not yet riding up the mountain on your perfect bike? Can't wait for episode two, the one when you new bike...

    Bosch Crank DIY, Possible?

Just curious at to why I do not see any Bosch DIY conversions? Is the Bosch System available as a kit? I appreciated that some cutting and TIG welding would be required but seems odd that I cannot find any references to home projects.

    Tow Path Trip

Myself and brother are planning a towpath trip this coming July. My 50th birthday. We both have ankle/foot disabilities and plan to take an Xipi kitted out e-bike and KTM Macina 29er. A 200 to 300 mile trip over 5 days. We'll report on the pro's and cons of both bikes for those who are...

    Spoke nipples

Hit a speed hump on the way to work the other day. Three front spokes let go. On inspection, I found that the spokes were intact. The nipple heads had actually rotted away and let go. These nipples are aluminium in stainless rim ferrules with stainless spokes. I can only conclude that the...

    Battery Charging

Due to my type of residence, my bike has to live outside. Albeit with 4 locks and under CCTV, web enable camera. I am generally too lazy to take the battery inside and charge it via a long lead. A good friend of mine told me is is not a good idea to charge the battery in low temperatures...

Electric Skateboard, Can I Use One?

Had a go on a mates new electric skateboard the other day. Took along my cycle gps unit to record my maximum speed. Brilliant, straight down the centre of a mile long, smooth and empty road. Maximum speed recorded was 31mph. Asked a bit more about it. 900w 36v and best part of £800...

    The Dog Is OK

Cycling to work on my ebike this morning along the mixed cycle come coastal foot path. On a narrow section, 10mph ish. The owner saw me coming and immediately called his dog out of the bushes across the path. Right at the last seconds. Upon hearing him call I realised he was probably...

    Request for Bosch tech info

Appreciate that technical information is no longer allowed but thought I would try my luck. With reference the the Bosch centre drive system, shortly to arrive on my new KTM. As I understand, the maximum speed of the system is determined by encoder pulse rate from the back wheel. Correct...

    Pedelec Crash Testing Research

An interesting read from the German Insurers Accident Research Unit http://www.udv.de/uploads/tx_udvpublications/CAR_30_Pedelec.pdf Seems that the Germans are taking the added risks seriously. Sorry if posted before but cannot find a previous reference.

    Food for thought

Been reading the forum for some months. It appear that there are two distinct groups. Those who feel that they must obey whatever the laws say, whether it makes sense or not and those who make up their own minds as to their requirements and do what ever they feel suits them. Assuming common...

    Hi from East Sussex

Been watching this forum with interest since both myself and partner decided to get into electric cycles. I purchased a Dutch Batavus some months ago for my partner. Old bike was non electric but at the end of its life. She uses the Batavus more than ever, in fact most days. We...
