    Fiido D11 Folding e-bike - A sort of review

Fiido have finally released their own official rear rack here for the D11/D21. Cost today is £48 against the Decathlon steel (1kg weight, 10kg loading) at £13 today, or the one in my own pics from Ebay/Amazon/Aliexpress, aluminium (500gm weight, 25kg loading) at £20 today. Fiido's official...

    Bike on Fire!

Yes, it does look like a front-wheel "dinner-plate" special. More likely the bike electrics got soaked from being left outside all night; a bit of sloshing around on the cycle to work, and a slow simmer turns to full-on cook whilst standing?

Hi! Looking for Fiido D21 alternative

Just having had a look at Estarli's website, in the e20 video they're talking about motor torque (i.e. they've increased the grunt), which is a totally different thing to having a torque sensor fitted as the D21 has. Very odd that they tell you very little about specifications for the bike and...

Hi! Looking for Fiido D21 alternative

Ah, okay, we live and learn. I have a Fiido D11 which is the Cadence sensor version of the D21. While I have Torque and RPM sensors on 2 other e-bikes, the D11 with it's cheaper cadence sensor IMHO I find preferable for commuting. If you have the chance, try out the Estarli both with Cadence...

Hi! Looking for Fiido D21 alternative

The Fiido D21 weighs 17.5kg (smooth-welded ali frame, lightweight Xiongda motor), the X is 19.2kg (cast ali frame, heavier Aikema motor, hydraulic brakes). Both use Torque sensors, which give a quite different riding experience to cheaper Cadence sensors of the other bikes you cite*. There are...

Where can I get parts? for Eskuta sx 250, Gigabyke, Ebabetta etc

You need (what) motor and (what) plastics for (which) of the three models you mention? You're not really helping anyone to help you. Just looking at the Eskuta website, they say "...for parts queries please email latisha.keeling@eskuta.com if you require parts for your product", and they seem...

Here're some interesting new e-bikes and features from Fiido...

I'd guess so. It looks like it'd suit a 5-year old, a motorised balance bike (it has no pedals). There're more pictures and information about some of these new models on Fiido's index page, but so far the promotional email they sent me and their website is sadly absent of technical info...

Here're some interesting new e-bikes and features from Fiido...

It's not that Fiido are about to launch a full line-up of full-sized non-folding e-bikes (they've hitherto only really been known for making small-wheeled folding e-bikes), but it's the features they're adding that intrigue me: Alongside a couple of contemporary road-going hybrids there's a...

Partial settlement in Rad Power fatal e-bike crash case

Why is an 11 year old even riding an electric bike, and carrying a 12 year old passenger, and arguably irresponsibly "during a fast descent" too? I know the laws in America differ from state-to-state, but even so AFAIK the minimum rider age is 14. Surely the parents hold a good deal of the...

    Bike braking on freewheel

We all experience that. Your bike weighs 23kg. That's a lot of weight to haul once the motor assistance stops (by law) at 15.5 mph. It's just how electric bikes are... very heavy once the peddle assistance stops.

    Battery charging 101

Post #18 OP Post #23 Which shows a rise from 53.7v to 54.4 v. That clearly demonstrates the OP's battery is continuing to balance after the LED first turned green. SANS own specs say the LED turns green when current draw is less than 300mA (although there are several technical adaptations of...

    Battery charging 101

All of my five 36v e-bike batteries (2 x Fiido, 2 x Phylion*, 1 x TranzX*) continue to draw (typically) 18w once the charger LED turns green. It takes another 0.5 to 1 hour before current draw drops below 3w, which is, I'd assume, when balancing has actually stopped? *These too are Sans chargers.

    Battery charging 101

As I understand it, the OP's battery is new and likely been sitting in storage for some time since manufacture before being first used. All the charger LED turning to green means is that the battery is drawing below (typically) 2-300mv. It's still topping-off/balancing for some time thereafter...

    FreeGo Eagle Upgrades

Surely that's the benefit of lower cost, coil sprung shocks? I often ride a mix of smooth road and rough trail. With a simple coil-sprung Suntour NEX fork, you simply variably rotate between firm and soft whilst on the ride. None of this "add more air" or "let air out" nonsense to accommodate a...

    FreeGo Eagle Upgrades

I've got a set of Suntour NEX forks on one of my e-bikes: They're absolutely fine for what the bike cost and what the bike is used for... in the same way that you wouldn't fit professional RaceShocks suspension on a Dacia.

    Battery charging 101

Post #1 Post #5 Does not compute! 4 bars is NOT a full charge! As @matthewslack says, charge the battery until the LED on the charger turns green and then let it charge for a few hours more to allow it to fully balance, then test-ride again.

Electrics going wrong with folding Basis bike SP20

Did the LED display on the handlebars go off too? If so, it could be the battery voltage sagging under load to a too-low level where the BMS cuts the power. That's most likely if you were using a high level of assist, perhaps going up a hill, and even more likely if the battery is older or worn...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

Buy a Raleigh Stow-E Electric Folder 2022 from E-Bikes Direct Having sometimes bought 5 washing machines or 5 fridges at a time, I've always relied on John Lewis' expert advice. Apart from their price match guarantee and extended warranties as standard, they only stock and sell what they've...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

Looking at this TranzX system, it's simply a "de-skilling" tool. It allows "proper" traditional "grease-monkey" bike mechanics who may be devoid of any electrical skills the ability to sell, service and repair a growth segment of their market with some confidence which they might otherwise...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

It didn't cost anything; I just happened to be talking to the right person at the right time and they gave me a link to download a copy (although that link doesn't work anymore). I haven't actually needed to use it yet but it's interesting to play with/see what it does.
