Newbie asking for help for diy conversion

From what i've read, 'mid crank torque sensing motors' often require a frame with a suitable bottom bracket. Make sure the motor you select is compatible with your existing frame, otherwise you might as well go for a rear hub or "easy convert" front hub motor. Have you checked to see if...

    Help - too many punctures

I second the use of Marathon Plus tyres. I would also add 'green slim' to your inner tubes, this self-seals small punctures. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SLIME-Tube-Sealant-Hang-Tab/dp/B000W45GGW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1553163560&sr=8-3&keywords=green+slime+tyre+sealant You might also want to...

Is the 1:1 the pedal hall sensor?

Here's a link to e-bike brakes just so you known what they look like. It has a switch inside which cut out the motor, it also takes the normal break cable...

ADVICE/ADVICE - Think my battery has Finally died !!!

Cheapest option would be a new 48v Charger. I was also thinking of changing the controller to 36v, but the battery's onboard bms would still act on the Battery's 'Cut off voltage' (39v - 36V)

ADVICE/ADVICE - Think my battery has Finally died !!!

If the poster is trying to use a 36v Charger on a 48v battery, then it will not work. The 36v charger is designed not to over-charge and so it should stop charging once 37v is reached. The 48v battery will also have a low voltage setting to prevent damage to the battery. This means once the...

    Spare charger purchase

I just had a thought, often the connector connecting the battery to the bike isn't the same as the connection on the battery used to charge the battery. Are there any other ports or connectors on the battery?

I saw that thought about this ... If only.

    Braking motor cut

Not only is it safer to have cut off brakes, its also extends the life of the battery, since it cuts power to moment you apply the break, It also means less breaking force to stop.

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

That would translate to approximately 350w. I suspect most '250w' motors will do this with a suitable controller.

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

If by 'Cycle Path', you mean a lane reserved on the 'road' for bikes, then you'll ride to keep up with the traffic. If by 'cycle path', you are refering to a path 'on the pavement', or a path through woodland, then 15mph is likely to be too fast with people around you. Put another way, just...

Woman fighting for life after 'e-bike' hit-and-run in east London

How many passes does the team in white make? Besides the term 'idiot' there is another more scientific term which could well apply in this case. 'Inattentional Blindness', is the inability to percive something which is within one's visual field usually as a result of visual load. I would...

Woman fighting for life after 'e-bike' hit-and-run in east London

The cctv also show the lights were green, and that the concused rider panicked after being confronted by members of the public. There's also the quesion of who made off with his bike, assuming that wasn't the rider.

Thank God for CCTV... otherwise the original story with all its inaccuracies would continue as is. So much for journalistic license.

    Wheel keeps falling off!

And 'if' the the axel isn't sitting properly in the drop outs because: a/ the person hadn't rotated the axel to slid in, and b/ the disc isn't seated in the brakes? The original poster says the way we see the picture, is the way the bike left bike shop. In otherwords the wheel was held on...

E-bike power cuts out under load

Also speaking from experiance, I found a combination of dodgy power connections and faulty brake connections will also give the appearance of cutting out randomly under load. So yeah, i would try the set up with the break connects removed from the controller (don't ride the bike with no breaks...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

Torque washers are a solution for the worst case. The worst case is where the axle is able to rotate in the dropouts. In most cases the squared sides of the axle will be snug fit for the dropouts. In this case the person who 'fitted' the rear wheel didn't know to rotate the rear axle so that...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

Oh i see now. In that case there should have been no need to remove the rear wheel. The PAS is usually fitted behind the chainring. That said your bike may have been the exception (kind of like my stuck bottom bracket ;).
