    Any Recommendations for Commuter Bike?

Similar trip 8.3 miles each way - hills most the way - one charge - 33 - 45 mins journey- no problem. Long steep hill on return journey about 10mph sitting down. Never had to take the bike back to Winchester. Cracking support from Cytronex.

    Ultra-thin "credit card" bike

I think I've spotted a design flaw with this bike. Gusting side winds. And it looks barking mad. Interesting to see how it looks after a nice ride in the rain on muddy roads. That side profile is just begging for advertising sponsership.

how many people here don't actually own/drive a car or drive less these days?

I have a car. My wife has a car. I hire cars regularly as well. Owning an e-bike has made me drive less (about 1800 miles a year less). Yes I do find it far more enjoyable than driving or riding a normal push bike. Distance is key for me though. I use the bike for short local rides and rarely...

    Cyclist Arrest

I cycle in rush hour town & city traffic and use cycle lanes. The blocking thing is a small minority but it happens regularly and often nowhere near junctions.

    Ass-pushers. I _like_ it!

Yeah Lazy is a out of order. I can't see many people buy electric because they're lazy. If they were lazy they'd take the car or use a motorbike. "ass pusher" applies to cars and motorbikes even better. Technically though pedal only bikes are ass pushers unless you're standing on the pedals...

"spectacularly sexy design." "HMK 561 – the most gorgeous electric bike ever made?" I agree it looks gruesome.

    Cyclist Arrest

Yes if see a motorbike or bike I always pull over a bit to ensure they can get past. Often done for me on my bike as well. Cycling down cycle lanes I get motorists in long queues pulling into the gutter to block me and, yes, they are usually fast or status cars. Driving on the motorway in...

    Cyclist Arrest

That's interesting and something I've not heard before. I have seen cars in the middle lane at night driving down the middle lane at about 60 MPH with no other cars in view. Middle laners don't really bother me since I'm usually ploughing down the outside lane (overtaking of course). I've just...

    Cyclist Arrest

On all roads, undertaking is permitted if the vehicles in the lane to the right are queueing or slow moving. I usually take it that the middle lane hog is medically blind and too frightened to drive on the inside or outside lane in case they hit the barrier or kerb. How else can you explain...

    bad back anyone?

I suffered a lot with back pain but not a twinge for the last 10 years. Exercise to strengthen core back mussles as z0mb13e states. Strengthening the abs with a cunch machines works wonders. Hanging upside down is best if you have one of those inversion machines. Depends on the nature of the...

    Nissan produce e cars

Yes, it's alway good to new production coming into the UK rather than being shipped overseas. Good luck with that. I hope the cars a success. Maybe you'd get a discount.

    Nissan produce e cars

Not allowing for inflation, and based on the figures mooted in the states I'd expect a price somewhere between £16,000 and £24000. There's no battery leasing with this car. Could make some sense in 2013 for someone doing local commutes in heavy traffic if petrol prices and taxes continue to...
