    Best bike for hills?

Was it in the highest power setting? I'm not sure how many power settings you have.

    Best bike for hills?

Take it along a flattish road in its highest power setting, I'll bet it goes over the cut out speed quite quickly. The motor will cut out and you'll feel a big difference as it's now just you doing the work. Keep pedaling and let the speed come down, the motor will cut back in and shoot you over...

    Best bike for hills?

If you're moving faster than the cut out speed then the motor will cut out and cut back in again as the speed drops. My Typhoon does that if in power level 5. Try going for a lower power level unless on a steep hill and the motor might not go over the cut out speed so will assist you all the time.

    UKIP Manifesto

I worked for a large German company and found their working chaps were no more efficient than Brits. Sometimes they were a lot less efficient. Like us, they took tea breaks and smoke breaks. The BIG difference was, their management respected the workers a WHOLE lot more than UK firms.

    Best bike for hills?

Where in Sotland do you live? There's an ebike shop in Linlithgow which hires ebikes. You could try a bike there to see if an ebike will do what you want? I've got 2 Kudos bikes which both do what I want and my wife has a Woosh that does what she wants but only you can tell if a bike would do...

    What a brilliant idea

I'm seldom, if ever, on my bike in the dark, but I'd like to buy this and just spray my tyres and a couple of spokes on each wheel. Then my helmet. I think it would look smart/stupid in the dark. I'm either smart or stupid, either way this is a winner for me.

    Ronseal diamond hard paint.

I'm prepared to try anything. :)

    Ronseal diamond hard paint.

I've got this devil's brew on the steps at the rear of my house, I've been trying to remove it for days. I've tried: Nitromors, some paint remover from screwfix and even sanding it off. It's a right pain. Has anyone got any ideas of how to remove it?

    General e-bike function questions

That's a bit of a sweeping statement. Not all Chinese bikes have a throttle nor do they all have front Hubs.

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

I am powered by the IRN BRU and then the bike is powered by me and some Chinese hamsters. So I guess the bike is partly IRN BRU powered. I also take an energy drink with me called 'Black' It's Polish and you get it in Tesco. It's quite good fuel on the bike. BTW: You now owe me a tenner. ;)

Why on earth did I go and do it?

We've already voted up here to not break up the UK. What will break it up is if things don't change. If the referendum was held again next week the vote would probably go the other way. What the Westminster lot and Labour in particular should ask is, WHY?

Why on earth did I go and do it?

What the UK needs is for everyone in Scotland to vote SNP, whether we want independence or not. Both Labour and Tories are panicing about that happening. Tories have already stated they won't do a coalition with SNP and Labour don't really want to do one either. It might force Labour and Tories...

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

He probably wouldn't. :) me, however, I've got no scruples. Send me the cash and ask your question. ;)

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

Juhso, of the two bikes you liked, did you try them up hills similar to the hills where you live? I take it you were at Electric Bikes Scotland? There are some hills in the streets near them. As to which will suit your wife best, only she will know, you'll get opinions on here from the crank...

    Time to introduce myself ...

Welcome to the madhouse and good for you, taking the first steps to Ebike heaven. :) P.S, we're all rapidly ageing.

    Ford launches e-bikes

I think they look strange. The small one called MODE, what on earth? it looks like my 7 year old granddaughter's electric scooter. I don't think we can look to car companies for better ebikes. I think cycle companies will be the drivers of ebikes.

    Copenhagen wheel

Does it only come in single speed? If so I can't see it being much good for me where I live. Any single speed that can take me uphills isn't going to be much good on flat roads and vice versa.

    My bottle battery experiment.

I've got it all done now and today was the first chance I've had to try it out on the road. It was cold, damp, windy and threatening to rain, so I only did 14 miles. I'm glad to say it worked, it worked just fine. After 14 miles the LCD on the Tourer was showing 3 out of 6 dots. The battery...

New Electric Bike but one small niggle

On both my bikes as I explained, you don't need a throttle they simply need the pedals to be turning. Having a throttle where the pedals need to be turning is pointless. On my bikes and I also think the OP's bike simply turning the pedals is all that is required for a flat road. Going uphill...

New Electric Bike but one small niggle

I have 2 Kudos bikes. the Typhoon has a thumb throttle which takes it to walking speed. Both bikes just need you to be turning the pedals to take the bike up to top speed. You could take the chain off and the bikes would still get to top speed on a flat road. The Typhoon would still get to top...
