    I've resigned.

OK, I've resigned from my job and I oficially finished today. Hopefully this will mean I get lots more miles in on my bikes. I've been challenged to a 45 mile ride on a non electric bike :( in the summer and have no excuse since I've now got plenty of time on my hands. Anyway, happy new year...

    2015 rumours???? pre-Christmas fun!!!

The EU energy commission are about to pass a law which will make all car manufacturers supply a free electric bike with every new car sold in the EU. They're hoping the bikes will be used in the good weather, thus reducing the amount of fossil fuels used in Europe.

Also looking to commute in London - different parameters

I've got 2 ebikes, both of which would do your trip. I've got a Kudos Tourer and a Kudos Typhoon. The Typhoon is gruntier but for a trip like yours I'd take the Tourer. It has mudguards, lights, a rack and panniers. The Tourer doesn't have a throttle but if you get tired/lazy, simply turning...

    The Ultimate Road E-Bike

My design for an ebike would be: Crank drive, bottle battery, front suspension, lights, proper mudguards, rear rack, 700 wheels, pedal sensor, suspension seat post and a rack bag.

    Spy shots New Kudos Bikes

The throttle, as Dave said, takes the bike up to a few mph. If, however, you were cycling along in power level 1, 2, 3 or 4 and just wanted a boost to help on a hill or junction, if you press the throttle whilst pedalling, you get full power until you let it go. Where did you get the full...

    Spy shots New Kudos Bikes

I like the look of the Rapide, it's my type of bike. Mudguards, lights and carrier. A proper man's bike. :)

    Small Business Saturday....

OK, in defence of local bike shops: Almost 4 years ago I got my first ebike, a Kudos Tourer. When I tried it I wasn't comfortable setting up the V brakes. I took it to a LBS, a small one man outfit and asked him about it. He adjusted them and showed me how to do it. "No charge" he said. I've...

justin beba.... or just out of beba?

My wife has a Woosh Santana CD. It has a throttle which she uses. She can't pedal a bike at all, so without the throttle she couldn't use a bike. She isn't unique, there will be others in that situation. She can use the ebike with throttle to come out with my grandson and me.

Are lightweight, short range e-bikes the answer

It would all depend on what you wanted an ebike for. If I had a 5ah battery on my Kudos Tourer I'd get about 15 miles range. I seldom ever do less than that when out so it wouldn't suit me. If, however, I was using the Tourer for commuting, I've got an 11 mile round trip, so the 5 ah battery...

    Leisure v Utility

99.99% leisure. I've had an ebike for 3.5 years and only commuted by bike twice. Once by normal bike and once by ebike. :)

Reliable bike carrier for Volt Pulse

I have 2 bike carriers, both Thule. I have the towbar mounted one which is great and another which hangs on the back hatch. I've carried the Kudos Tourer on the hatch carrier with no problems. Ive travelled at about 80mph with no problems. Just make sure it's firted securely and check it...

375 miles need new brake pads!

I prefer the V brakes on my tourer to the cable disks on my typhoon. They've both been setup by the same shop and I think the V brakes are better.

Easiest way find percentage of a hill?

I know someone who would think a cubic mile of beer was a good night out. I have a VDO cycle computer on my Typhoon which gives an indication of gradient. I never thought it was very accurate so ended up relying on the E: H: FH and FT scale myself. FT is what we say when we decide against...

First Ebike Purchase review: ex demo KTM

I realise the cranks you received aren't bothering you, I was just thinking Col could be the bigger man and send you new ones as a wee token of apology. Don't get too upset about it though. Get out and enjoy yourself. I've done over 4000 miles on my ebikes and still love getting out to play.
