    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

That's very kind - but I do have an external one from my old kit. Presumably I should just temporarily attach to front crank and connect in place of the internal PAS?

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

Thanks again Brown/red on PAS to red on speed sensor beeps. So brown/red is 5V. Yellow on PAS to red does not. I think this means that yellow on PAS is the signal line, so connection is correct. Rather lost!

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

Ok. On the controller side I have brown (should be 5V), yellow (should be signal) and black (ground). Black to brown gives 4.2V (on an old analogue multimeter - numbers may be slightly off) Black to yellow gives 3.8V On the continuity check, do I leave PAS unplugged, and no power on...

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

Thanks for the clear directions. Much to my confusion, probing signal and ground on the PAS connector gives regular 5v pulses. It must therefore be a connector setting problem (S12S with LCD3). Back to the manual... I had already set it for a 12 magnet sensor (C1=03). My settings are below. P1...

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

I spoke too soon. It is now all working on throttle, but the PAS mode is not working (currently trying to use the internal PAS on the GSM). Anyone have any clever thoughts? Sent from my MI 5s using Tapatalk

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

Thanks all for the very helpful tips. Turned out to be the 9 pin round connector - I'd not pushed it far enough in. Now working. Thanks again Phil Sent from my MI 5s using Tapatalk

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

I think they are very similar - if it's not too much trouble, could you share your P and C settings? Thanks Sent from my MI 5s using Tapatalk

    GSM / S12S / LCD3 / 36V - error code 03-INFO

Hi all I've got some issues with setting up my GSM crank drive motor - almost certainly down to my ignorance. Tony from Woosh has already been very helpful with other questions that I had. All is connected apart from the speed sensor (I have to extend the cable). Unfortunately, I now have an...

GSM with external controller - PAS connections

That is impressive service - I also emailed Woosh directly and got a very quick reply. For the benefit of anyone searching for this in the future, here are the connections for S06/S12 style controllers from BMS battery to the GSM pedelec/PAS. According to BMS, the PAS controller wiring is...

GSM with external controller - PAS connections

Hi all I bought a GSM crank drive from Woosh months ago, and have just got round to trying to fit it to my velomobile. I have modified my controller (S12S) to deliver max 18A (desoldered and filed shunt). However, the 'pedelec sensor' lead with the GSM has 4 wires on the connector (black...

Planning my bbs build - California chainring adaptor vs bling ring

If you are putting it on a recumbent, the chain line is less of an issue - but crank alignment is (meaning 1 crank is further out from the centreline than the other, being uncomfortable, and also a major pain in a velomobile as your feet hit the side). I'm in the process of putting a GSM with...

    Punctures !!!!

I also agree with the recommendations for marathon plus tyres. However, a wee word of warning - they are not the best on cornering. A softer side wall and compound gives better grip when turning. YMMV. I like the pluses, and have never had a puncture with them, but have bust my collarbone due to...

Using rear geared hub as mid-drive - feasible, or a bad idea?

Thanks both. I think you are right - it is a big motor. I'll save for a BBS0x unit. Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Using rear geared hub as mid-drive - feasible, or a bad idea?

Hi all, Questions at the bottom for those with little time. I had a bad spill a few weeks ago - smashed my collarbone into multiple pieces, and have been laid up recovering for several weeks. Unfortunately my lovely wife has therefore decided that cycling is dangerous. I'm considering using it...

Bicycle helmets reduce risk of serious head injury by nearly 70%, study finds

Interesting thread. I'm also against them being made mandatory as it may well reduce the numbers of cyclists like in Aus. However, on a personal level I do always wear a helmet - had 2 big offs, the last one 3 weeks ago resulting in broken collar bone. In both cases I hit the back of my head...

Can and should you ride an e-bike without a battery?

Just a couple of minor caveats This won't work if you have a direct drive hub motor ( although if you have one it is unlikely to be 250W) Also not great if, like me, you have all your lights wired into the ebike battery! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    tyre pressure and punctures

Agree with the above - I've had marathon pluses and no puncture for 18 months. Just keep them up to pressure and enjoy not changing tubes in the rain! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

My latest and most difficult conversion Trek Top Fuel 9.9 Carbon.

Just to wade in on this - I think it rather depends what you do with the motor. If you run within specs, never over-volt or use excessive current, and don't let it overheat then the Bafang motors are good bang for buck IMO. Certainly I've been pleased with my CST motor - always run with 36V...
