My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

well, actually, it takes from 30 - 40 minutes to recharge but that is still very quick. I think there are two reasons why they are not more popular. 1. They were very costly. Retailing upwards of £1600, I think. $3000 in the USA. - They are a very hi quality cycle actually and that shows in the...

My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

Hey Alan, one step at a time for me. I will sort out a computer. Do you recommend a good one? Preferably inexpensive and probably wireless? Also in miles rather than K's, I will sort out the PSP as soon as I can get some decent housing. Not sure about recording video, although I may... just like...

My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

OK, so I paid 599 + 25 for delivery from factorydirectbikes.co.uk - but if you can get it at 499 its absolutely worth a punt. The quality as a bike itself is fantastic. The ride is so smooth and quick. So much better than my TREK Navigator, which I have loved for 2 years. It is fast, the motor...

My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

It does struggle on the really steep hills and actually the secret is to lower the amount of power to the motor, take it down to a much lower gear and peddle. You will still be out of breath when you get to the top but nowhere near out of breath on a normal bike. As for how steep the hills are...

My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

Well, I took my first proper journey home and took the long route, just for the fun of it and boy, it was fun! The journey is something like 8 - 9 miles and usually takes me upwards of 50 minutes with headwinds and tough hills. (I'm not very fit). It took me half an hour!!!!! The Tailwind has...

My New Bike! - Schwimm Tailwind

OK, so a review will follow but I ended up with a Schwimm Tailwind. A bike that has had mixed reviews for its claims around battery charging times, value for money e.t.c. They seemed to be retailing at around £1,600 upwards. Obviously being offloaded now as they didn't sell very well. I picked a...

Anyone know about these bikes? Are they any good.

Spoke to a chap with one of these at the weekend. He said it was brilliant. Looks like a small independent set up. Apparently designed it themselves and get them build in South Africa. Good range, charge time, price... Thinking practically for trains e.t.c. I think a fold up might be a good...

    15mph?

OK, would like to hear more about this but I am restricted to going with Evans. I did it a couple of years ago and got my trek, which I am very happy with and I thought the scheme was good but why a scam? It's a very good scheme, which allows you to spread the cost and make tax savings, where's...

    15mph?

Thank you for this. There are several reasons I am not going for a kit. Did actually consider it but.. 1. I can get the entire thing cheaper via the ride to work scheme. 2. The entry level kits are not far off the same cost of a bike anyway. 3. I get a spare bike :-) for the pub!!!.... hic 4...

    15mph?

Stupid question, but how fast is this? I mean, I drove in my car, 15mph up a hill and it felt very slow. In reality, what does it really feel like? Also, If I get myself this new 2011 model Powabyke x24, which I am seriously considering... can I get it de-restricted and if so, what are the...

    Can't make up my mind.

I am hooked on the idea of a Pedelec and want to get one via the r2w scheme. I think I have a choice over the X6 Powabyke or the Claud Butler I am looking to spend between £800 - £1000 and restricted to going with Evans. Question is, where can I find some good reviews of these products, or...
