More Confused- Which E-Bike for hilly area.

Thank you again, but how can you change the rear sproket if it has a Nexus rear hub with the gears exposed?

More Confused- Which E-Bike for hilly area.

I just saw a U-Tube video of the Flyer S, that shows it going up a small hill, without the assistance of the rider pedalling. I thought these bikes with Panasonic systems could not do this?? (YouTube - Flyer serie S)

More Confused- Which E-Bike for hilly area.

OK, I had the list narrowed down to Schwinn Continental, Pro-Connect , Gazelle, mostly leaning towards the Pro-Connect, but now there are a few more choices: Pro-Connect S, Flyer S, T, C Models. I can NOT try any of these models where I am located (have contacted all manufacturers as well)...

    Pro Connect 2009 (fast pedelec > 25km/h)

OK, After looking at the Ebay pixs, I see the new bike has derailleurs at the rear, as opposed to the Nexus system on the Reg ProConnect. Can this account for the speed diff? Also I do not read German, but does it say available in Dec? I wonder if the price listed on Ebay will be the reg...

    Pro Connect 2009 (fast pedelec > 25km/h)

Thanks for the info, this sounds like exactly what I want, as I also live in the US, I can have this shipped there no problem. What exactly is the major differences between this and the regular ProConnect ? How do they achieve the faster speed, not with just the different gearing ?? Have...

    Pro Connect 2009 (fast pedelec > 25km/h)

E-Kagu, If you have tried the bike, can you tell me if the motor will run the bike, without pedalling, or will the motor only start if you begin to pedal? Thanks

    Pro-Connect 2nd range test.

Burncycle, Since you are riding the bike that I am considering, I would like to ask a few questions: 1. Do the pedals freewheel, by that I mean, while the bike is moving, can you pedal the bike pedals backward? 2. If you are riding, can you stop pedalling for awhile, and have the motor take...

    Pegasus Bike vs. Kalkhoff

I am in France, but the bike will be taken back to the U.S., where it can be modified whichever way. I now remember reading that NEXUS offered the 7 speed hub as both freewheel and back pedal brake models, maybe this is what you were referring to. So what you are saying, is that with the...

    Pegasus Bike vs. Kalkhoff

I rode my first e-bike today, a Pegasus E-Swing. It was a little different than I expected. As I began to pedal off, the surge of the battery motor came on (Sanyo). as I pedaled, the motor stayed on assisting, but after a very short time, the bike was moving faster than I was pedaling, and it...

    Powered pedal cycle in collision

Thank you for the response, I guess I was looking for some sort of reassurance that wearing one would help.

    Powered pedal cycle in collision

I am just looking for a simple YES or NO answer! If NO, then I may be able to rationalize that wearing will may save me in a similiar predicament. If YES, then I would like to know why and if the helmet did not save his head injuries. This is not that difficult of a question.

Which Hubs and transmissions are best?

For an ebike that may be used in hilly terrain, which is the best gear setup: Regullar Derraileur with 3 gears up front and 8 in back, or the newer Nexus 7 speed enclosed hub with planetary gears? Also while on the subject, is there any performance advantages uses a solid drive shaft, like in...

Schwinn Continental E-Bike - No reviews?

What I meant by "gear drive" , was that there is no chain. There is a sealed gear tube from the pedal unit directly to the rear wheels. This is the first that I personally have noticed on an e-bike.

Schwinn Continental E-Bike - No reviews?

Has anyone had any experience with the new Schwinn Continental? Suppossedly it has a gear drive, as opposed to a chain drive, and also uses a Shimano Nexus 7 speed internally hubbed shifter, and a Schwinn Front Hub drive (Panasonic??) It sounds interesting, any comments??

Has anyone ridden a Paris "VELIB" compare to e-Bike?

I was wondering if anyone has ridden the Parisian rental bikes that line Paris's streets, the VELIB. I ask this because I have ridden one almost daily for the past month, and find it both comfortable (seating and riding position). I wanted to know if any of the Panasonic e-Bikes, like the ...

    Which e-Bike to get ?

Flecc, Thank you for your reply, I am still not sure what the main differences in useage would be between the following 3 bikes: ProConnect Easy Glide or Orange Inergy Cytronix I understand the first two use the Panasonic motors ? The Gazelle Easy Glide I think uses a motor in the front...

    Which e-Bike to get ?

This is my first post. I live in a town that is both hilly and flat. To get to the center of town (flat portion), you have to go down a long hill, approx 2-3 miles, and to get home, up the same hill. After riding Velibs everyday in Paris, I decided to take up cycling again, after a 20-30 year...
